Roxy pov

I walked into the room and saw Leela slowly coming to. I walked over and shone a light into her eyes to see if she'd give a reaction, which she did. A slight whining noise came from her as she tried so desperately to shut her eye.

When I had let go of her eye, she shut it and slowly blinked, trying to get some of the moisture back. She started to move her head around, trying to familiarise herself with the surroundings. I stepped away from her slightly so I didn't scare her. She pressed the button that moved her bed to raise slightly and scanned the room for the one person who wasn't in it. Tears immediately came to her eyes when she realised he wasn't here.

"Where's daddy?" She whimpered. Shit.

"Don't worry baby, daddy will be here soon I promise." I said as I walked over and grabbed her hand, but she pushed mine away.

"I want my daddy. Please get my daddy." She cried out again as she hugged the teddy Jaden was holding before her surgery. If she keeps constricting her chest like that her skin will tear.

"Ok Leela, I know you want your daddy, and I will go and get him, but you need to be careful. If you keep pulling your skin taut like that, you'll rip your skin. I need you to calm down a little for me." I said as I lightly pulled at her arms to remove some of the pressure she was creating.

"You'll get my daddy?" She asked as she dropped her arms and held the teddy against her face.

"Yes, I'll go get him. In the meantime, my friend Cassie will come and stay with you." I said as I paged Cassie to the room.

"Can I call her Sassy?" She beamed.

"You'll have to ask her that." I smiled as Cassie had walked through the door. I waved to Leela and then walked out to try and find Jaden.

I walked out of the room and went to where he was before. I saw him there holding Matthews arm as he called someone. His partner had turned up, but he didn't seem to leave.

"Jaden?" I asked, but he didn't answer.

"Detective?" Again no response.

"Mr Hossler?" Still nothing. I sighed and drew in a big breath.

"Jaden fucking Hossler, don't you dare fucking ignore me." I shouted. He looked up at me with a pissed face. Oh so now I have your attention?

"What do you want Roxy? I'm working." He hissed as he hung up his phone.

"That's funny, I never knew that your work was more important than your daughter, who may I add, was more than prepared to tear herself in two by hugging that bear, because her dad wasn't in her room when she woke up." I said in an angry tone as I narrowed my eyes at him. His face dropped as he let go of Matthew to his partner.

"She's awake?" He asked, sounding guilty.

"Yes. And is freaking out because you aren't there." I said as I turned.

"Fuck." He muttered under his breath as he followed me to her room.

"Thanks Cass." I sighed as I walked into the room.

"It's okay." She smiled as she walked out.

"Daddy." Leela squealed as Jaden walked in behind me.

"Hi princess." He smiled as he walked over to her and kissed her cheek.

"Why weren't you here?" She asked as she turned to him.

"I'm sorry baby, I was sorting something. I forgot how strong you were and that you wake up so early." He chuckled hazardously as he kissed the side of her head.

"Hmm. Your forgiven" she trailed off. "Only if you let me braid your hair." She giggled as he groaned.

"Right now?" He asked as she nodded frantically. "Fine." He sighed as he turned around.

"Yay." She squealed as she put her hands in his hair.

I laughed as I walked around the room to sit in front of them. I needed to make sure she didn't stretch too far, and it was a bonus to annoy Jaden with this. I smirked as I sat down and stared at him, he glared at me.

"What?" He asked in an annoyed tone.

"Remember all those times you decided to test my patience? Consider this a little bit of karma. Take all the time you want Lee Lee, have to make sure it's pure perfection." I laughed as he groaned.

"Yes Ro Ro." She giggled as Jaden's glare got more cold to me.

"I hate you." He said to me as Leela lightly pulled on the strand of hair she was holding. "What was that for?" He asked as he slightly turned to look at her.

"Don't be mean to Ro Ro." She said as she turned his head again.

"You've turned my own daughter against me. Are you happy now?" He asked in a jokey tone.

"Eh." I replied and laughed as he rolled his eyes.

"Are you done yet?" Jaden asked for the seventh time in the last ten minutes.

"Why, you got somewhere to be?" I joked as I stood up, making him groan again since he's been sat down for over an hour.

We also learnt that for reasons he refused to disclose around his daughter, he cannot physically sit criss-cross. Although it was funny to watch him try.

"And you're done." Leela squealed as she removed her hands from his hair.

"Fucking finally." He sighed as he stood up, all of his bones performing a concert as he did.

"Daddy said a no no word. You need to sit in the corner and think about what you said." Leela said as she pointed to the corner.

"Doesn't work like that Lee Lee, I'm the adult, you're not." He said as he turned to face her.

"How do you expect her to comply with the punishment if you don't do the same. All parents are leaders Mr Hossler. Do you really want to be setting that example for little Leela here?" I asked smugly as his face dropped.

"Yeah daddy." Leela said as she crossed her hands over her chest, causing me to pull them away from her chest slightly.

"Oh my god. Fine." He dragged out the I as he went and stood in the corner. Leela giggled and high fives to me as his back was turned to us.

"Nice one." I laughed as I heard Jaden scoff.
