After I had let the dogs play outside for a little bit, I called them to come back in. When they didn't, I went out, just in time to see Cream fall into the pool. Jaden and Leela were in it earlier, I'm assuming, and hadn't covered it back over yet.
I ran over to where she was and pulled her out quickly. The dogs hadn't learnt how to swim yet considering they've never been near water. Luckily she wasn't in there for long and her head never went under the water.
"Are you okay baby?" I laughed slightly, trying to calm the major panic that had arisen in me.
I patted her dry with a towel I got out from the pool house. Once she was completely dry, I ushered both dogs inside and shut the door. I realised I forgot to turn the lights off to the pool house and so I quickly went back out to do that.
And boy did I regret it.
"Hello sweetheart, I haven't seen you around here before." A voice came from over the fence.
I looked around confused as to where the voice had came from, until I saw a man, around thirty, over the top of the fence.
"Oh, hi?" I said in a slightly confused tone.
"Are you Jaden's fuck buddy or something?" He asked.
"No. I'm his girlfriend." I stated.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I should have realised that." He laughed awkwardly.
"Sorry, can I help you? Is there a reason you were looking over into my boyfriends yard at 10 o'clock at night?" I asked looking down at my watch.
"Oh right, I was just trying to see if I could get a look at his daughter. She looks beautiful in a swimsuit." He said with a disgusting and twisted smile on his face.
"Oh my god. You- he- she's fucking four years old, you sick bastard." I shouted at him as he just laughed.
"I know how old she is. Just makes it all the better." He smirked, making me sick to my stomach.
"People like you deserve to be locked up for life. She's a child. You should rot in hell." I screamed at him before running inside and locking the doors.
I felt my eyes begin to sting at the thought of him. I leant against the counter and just let the tears silently fall.
I need to tell Jaden.
I composed myself a little, after downing a glass of water. I looked out the glass of the door to see him still standing there, looking down at the pool. I shook my head at the thought of him and turned away.
I turned the light off in the kitchen and the living room before making my way up the stairs. I went into mine and Jaden's room to get changed and to talk to him, but he wasn't there.
I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and changed into my pyjamas, which consisted of one of Jaden's shirts and a pair of sweatpants. When I came out, Jaden still wasn't there, so I went to go and look for him.
I noticed that the light in Leela's bedroom was still on, which is strange because she usually doesn't keep it on. I went to go and check on why it was still on, and my heart almost melted when I saw her and Jaden cuddled up on the bed. He had his arms wrapped around her protectively, and she was cuddled up into his side, her head resting on his stomach.
I smiled to myself as I walked further into the room to turn the light off. I then leaned over, kissing both of them on the head, before wishing them goodnight, and walking back out, shutting the door behind me.
As I walked back into our room, I walked over and shut the blinds. This room faces the backyard, whereas Leela's faces the front yard, which makes me somewhat relieved that that god awful man can't look into her room.
He was still there, now he wasn't looking into our yard, but he was still out there. I shut the blinds and laid in the bed, but I couldn't fall asleep. I couldn't tell if it was for the fact that Jaden wasn't with me, or if it was for the fact of that interaction I had with the neighbour.
I stayed awake the whole night, just thinking about all of the times he's peered over at Leela playing, and gotten pleasure out of it. Gotten off from it. It made me sick.
It was around seven in the morning when Jaden had entered the bedroom. I was frozen in place, stood up by the window, just looking out.
"Roxy? You okay?" Jaden asked.
"I- Uh yeah, I'm fine." I said as I turned to face him.
"Have you slept at all baby?" He asked as he walked closer to me, running his fingers under my eyes slightly.
"I need to talk to you. You need to come back here after you've dropped Leela off at school." I said, avoiding his question.
"I have work babe." He dismissed.
"We'll work can fucking wait. This important, so you need to bring your ass back here after you've dropped that little girl off at school. Do you fucking understand me?" I said in a harsh tone, almost crying.
"Okay, okay baby. I'll come back, I promise." He sighed as he brought me into a hug. "You really need to sleep Rox, this isn't good for the baby." He said in my ear in a soft tone.
"I can't sleep right now. Just take Leela to school and then come back." I sighed as I leant my head against his chest.
"Alright, alright. I'll be back within the hour." He said as he kissed my lips lightly.
He pulled away from the hug and quickly changed his clothes before he walked out of the room after brushing his teeth. I sighed and looked out the window one last time to see him stood there again. This time looking directly through the window.
Leela.
