It was about ten thirty at night, as I was just sat on my bed looking through a file Peter had asked me to look over, when I knock at the door broke the silence.

"Come in." I said softly, but without looking up from my work. The door opened and Jaden walked in. He sat on the edge of the bed and just looked at me.

"How'd you know I came back?" I asked as I finally looked up at him.

"Well, I kind of figured when I saw all of the stuff downstairs put away or back in its place. It was either you or a very friendly robber." He laughed slightly.

"That's me, I'm the very friendly robber." I joked back.

"What's all this?" He asked, motioning to the papers surrounding me. "You look like you're trying to cast a spell." He laughed.

"Yes that's exactly what I'm doing." I said back, causing us both to laugh. "No, it's just a file that P asked me to look over quickly. He thinks that the injuries don't match up with the reason behind it so he asked me to have a look." I explained as I sorted some of the papers.

"Ah right." He nodded.

"Look, I'm sorry for going off on you earlier. I was over reacting and you are just trying to look out for your baby." I said as he shook his head at me.

"No, you were right to react the way you did. I was being too obsessive over it, and so I'm sorry for that." He argued back.

"I mean, I'm happy that you were worried about me and the baby, but just back up just a little. Next time, I don't think you need to come to the hospital and wait outside the operating room. Kind felt like you were trying to hold my hand to take a piss." I laughed.

"Okay."

"What happened earlier?" I asked, thinking back to the first aid kit.

"Huh?"

"The first aid kit was out and there were wrappers on the counter. What happened?" I asked again.

"Oh right, Leela was trying to get something off of the shelf with her baby ornaments on, she must've fell and bumped her head. In the process she knocked off one of the ornaments and it shattered. When she heard my voice without seeing me, she startled and leant back, putting her hand right in the glass pile and cut her hand. It literally happened just as I had walked through the front door. I had her babysitter here to watch over her, but she thought that sleep was more important, so she no longer works that job." He explained.

"Woah, hold up. Surely that's a little bit of an over reaction?" I asked him as he furrowed his eyebrows at me.

"No. She fell asleep with Leela under her watch, which, in result, caused her to be injured." He said to me as if I was fucking stupid.

"Okay first off, don't take that tone with me or things will go south for you fast," I said as he rolled his eyes. "But second, can you honestly sit here and tell me that in her four years of life, there has never been one situation whereby you've relaxed a little too much and something happened? It may not have to be dangerous or threatening to her safety, but has something like that ever happened with you?" I asked him.

"That's not-"

"Answer the fucking question Jaden." I said in a serious tone.

"Yes there has been, but I don't see ho-"

"Good. So surely you can understand that what happened was a freak accident? A fluke if you will. I'm not saying that you have to keep her working for you, but maybe just think about it before you completely fire her. I mean has she been a good babysitter, other than this one time?" I asked him.

"Are you gonna cu-"

"No, I won't cut you off. Oh wait." I laughed realising I had cut him off from asking a question about cutting me off.

"Can I talk now?" He laughed as I nodded. "Yes she has been a good babysitter." He answered.

"Okay. Do you trust her? Excluding the incident today." I clarified.

"Pretty well." He dismissed.

"Well then, maybe consider not firing her. She made a mistake, and I'm sure she's punishing herself enough with that. You don't need to listen what I said, just think about it before you make a decision." I suggested as I started to clear up the papers.

I had put the papers in a pile on the dresser against the wall opposite the bed. I heard shuffling around behind me, but didn't think anything of it. That was until I felt Jaden's hands snake around my exposed waist due to me wearing a cropped shirt and shorts.

"Your hands are just forever cold aren't they?" I teased as the temperature of his hands were still dropped.

"Warm them up for me then." He mumbled as he picked me and laid me on the bed.

He hovered over me and attached his lips to mine, kissing me softly. I kissed back and brought my hands to his cheeks. He pulled away and kissed my cheek, before lowering himself so his head was resting on my chest. He snaked his arms around my waist and rested his hands open palm, against my back. He curled his fingertips up slightly so they just grazed my skin. My back arched slightly as a natural reaction from the coldness of his hands.

"No, stop arching your back." He mumbled as he pushed down on my hips lightly with his shoulders.

"Okay. Sorry your royal highness." I whispered out.

I brought my hand up to play with his hair. I wrapped the short blonde strands around my finger and eased them. I felt his hot breath hit my stomach as he sighed and his body fell heavy. I knew he had fallen asleep, and soon enough I had let the darkness consume me too.
