(Y/N)'s P.O.V
When I opened my eyes, everything was dark. I looked around to see that I was standing on what seemed like a body of water.
I held my head as I struggled to remember what had just happened. The war. The Hokages. The fight with my brother. I gasped and hurriedly placed my hands on my ribs when the memories came back. I removed a hand and saw that there was no blood leaking out of me. I looked around in confusion.
My eyes were soon drawn to a man floating in front of me. He was a tall and pale-skinned man, who had deep wrinkles and a strong jawline. He had spiky, shoulder-length, pale brown hair, with a chin-length, braided lock hanging in front of his left ear. He also had a goatee which tapered down to his waist. He had a pair of horn-like protrusions extending from either side of his forehead and pupilless white eyes. He also had a red Rinnegan-like marking in the centre of his forehead. He wore a white, full-length kimono with a pattern of six black magatama around a high collar, beneath which, he wore a necklace which was also made up of six black magatama.
My eyes widened when I recognised him. "You're... The Sage of Six Paths!"
I started to bow, but he held up his hand to stop me. "There is no need for that, (Y/N)".
I straightened up and glanced around again. "What happened?"
He tilted his head. "Do you not remember?"
I shook my head. "No, of course I remember. I remember that fight with my brother, I just- I thought I was dead. I was dying, how am I here?"
"I wished to speak with you," he answered.
I tilted my head in curiosity. "About what?"
"The powerful ninja known as Naruto and Sasuke". I straightened up at those names. "Perhaps I should start from the beginning". So he did.
He told me everything about himself, his mother – Kaguya – and his brother – Hamura. Also about his sons and their reincarnations.
I pondered over everything I had just learned. "I guess that makes sense. If you're right and Sasuke is the reincarnation of your son, Indra, then it makes sense why he is the way he is. And it also explains why Naruto is so... 'sunshine-y'". I looked up at him. "But I don't get it. What does this have to do with me?"
"Because you have a connection with both of them".
I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, yeah. Sasuke's my family and Naruto's one of my closest friends, so I think 'connection' is a good way to describe it. I mean, Sasuke's a bit of a jerk and he tried to kill me, but he's my blood and I can't really change that. But that doesn't really answer my question".
"Sasuke is lost".
I scoffed. "Understatement of the century".
He gave me a pointed look, telling me to be quiet. "But I believe you are the one that can steer him on the right path".
I let out a laugh. "Me?! Have you forgotten that he tried to kill me? Besides, I tried to help him. For ten years, I tried to help him, but it's hard to help someone that doesn't really want help". I let out a breath. "I don't really know how to help him anymore, I've simply run out of options".
"Maybe you can start by forgiving him".
I scoffed. "I wouldn't be so mad at him if he just apologized and meant it. I can't stay mad at him, he knows that! Frankly, it's a miracle I've managed to hold a grudge against him for this long". I shook my head in denial. "No, I'm sorry, but you've got the wrong girl. Ask Sakura! Sasuke's in love with her, she actually has a chance at bringing him back! But I'm telling you, he won't listen to me!"
