The next day, we went to guard Tazuna on the bridge. Things were pretty awkward between me and Sakura because of what happened last night. We left Naruto at the house to rest because he was too exhausted from using too much of his chakra for training.

When we got to the bridge, all of his workers were on the ground injured. I rushed up to them. "Their injuries are pretty minor, so they'll be alright. I think this was more of a warning or a diversion than an actual attack".

Suddenly, a mist covered the area. The team and I got into the Manji Formation. We heard a voice. "Sorry I kept you waiting Kakashi. I see you still got those brats with you, and look, that one's shaking". He was indicating towards Sasuke. I grabbed his hand to try and calm him down. Zabuza and that tracker ninja emerged out of the mist. Multiple Zabuza surrounded us.

Suddenly, Sasuke smirked. "I'm shaking with excitement". Then he attacked all the Zabuza, which then transformed into water, leaving the real one exposed.

Sasuke went head-to-head with the tracker ninja, eventually overpowering him. "You made a big mistake insulting these ninja and calling them brats," Kakashi Sensei told the two. "Sasuke is the best young fighter in the whole village. Sakura has the sharpest mind. (Y/N) is the most perceptive one here". I smirked. "And last but not least, our Number One Hyperactive Knucklehead Ninja".

The tracker ninja trapped Sasuke in this mirror-ice-cage-thing. I tried to come to his rescue, but we were cut off from him, as he was from us. That's when Naruto showed up, making his grand entrance as usual.

As a medical ninja, I wasn't allowed to join the front lines because I needed to stay back so I could heal the injured, but I also had to get over to Sasuke as soon as possible. Sakura and I were guarding Tazuna while everyone else was fighting.

We watched as Sasuke fell, unable to do a single thing to help. After that, Naruto changed. His eyes turned red and he seemed to get more aggressive. 'Is this the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox?' Naruto, in his Nine-Tailed state, seemed to easily overpower Haku.

Meanwhile, Kakashi Sensei had defeated Zabuza and was about to kill him when Haku jumped in and took the attack himself, dying in the process. I did my best to save him, but his wounds were too severe.

Naruto showed up, and that's when we found out that Sasuke was dead. The three of us rushed over to him. As soon as we saw Sasuke lying still, I froze while Sakura threw herself over him and started crying uncontrollably. It only took me a moment to regain my composure.

I knelt beside him, pulled out my kunai and put it over his mouth to check for signs of breathing. It was faint, but there was definitely hot air on my kunai. "He can still be saved!" I yelled in my excitement.

Sakura looked up at me. "What do you mean?"

"Just trust me," I said, looking her in the eyes. "Now, I'm gonna need you to stand back and give me some room to heal him". She nodded and got off him but didn't leave his side. I tied my hair up so it wouldn't get in the way and then knelt on the other side of him. I put my ear to his chest and I could hear a faint beat of his heart.

I started pulling out all the needles that were on him. "What's that?" Sakura asked me, pointing to my neck.

"It's nothing," I replied, putting my ponytail over my curse mark to hide it.

To my surprise, Sakura started helping me get the needles out. When they were all gone, I used my medical ninjutsu to heal his wounds. I watched as his cuts and bruises started to disappear from his body.

Eventually, I finished, but Sasuke still wouldn't wake up. 'Ok, on to plan B,' I thought. I put both my hands on his chest and started doing compressions. I then moved on to mouth-to-mouth.

"What are you doing?" Sakura asked me when she saw me put my mouth on his.

"It's called CPR. It can be used to manually jumpstart one's heart and breathe air into their lungs," I explained.

When I was starting to give up, Sasuke slowly opened his eyes. As soon as he sat up, I threw my arms over him as tears streamed down my face. I let go only for Sakura to do the same thing. I couldn't help but laugh. I helped him up just as Naruto and Kakashi Sensei were finishing up their fight.

We built graves for Zabuza and Haku on a cliff overlooking the Land of Waves. We continued to stay with Tazuna until he finished building the bridge. They named it The Great Naruto Bridge in honour of everything Naruto did for them. Once we'd finished our mission, we said our goodbyes and headed back to the village.
