Assemble! Allied Shinobi Forces!

As soon as we arrived at the village, we sent Naruto to that island the Raikage mentioned, while telling him it was an S-rank mission. If he knew the real reason we were sending him away, there was no way he'd willingly go.

I went to the gate to see him off. When I gave him a goodbye hug, I discreetly placed a teleportation formula and one of my snakes on him should anything go wrong.

With Naruto safe, we were finally able to start the preparations for the war.

Just a couple of weeks after the preparations started, we were called to the Hidden Cloud for an emergency summit. Apparently, Kisame had managed to infiltrate the Hidden Cloud and the island Naruto was staying on. Not only that, but before he died, he'd managed to send all the intel he had gathered back to the Akatsuki.

"To have an intel leak now, we'll have to reformulate our tactics, then," the Tsuchikage suggested. "But since they know that the Allied Shinobi Forces are aware of the leak, they'll cautiously watch the situation. That makes it easier for us to set traps".

"But what about the island? Even if it's mobile, we can't afford to let our guard down," Aunty Tsunade pointed out. "They want the Jinchūriki. The Akatsuki's going to come looking for them".

"Someone needs to go over there and make sure they're safe," I suggested.

"It'll be meaningless if they spot us mobilising our forces," Mifune pointed out. "We can send a small elite unit to avoid suspicion". I nodded in agreement.

"Why don't I go?" the Tsuchikage volunteered. We all agreed with that.

"And I'll go to the Hidden Rain and check on Konan and the Rinnegan," I told them. It was about time I did just that. I hadn't seen either since the attack on the Hidden Leaf.

"How do we know this little guardian of yours won't betray you?" the Tsuchikage asked. It was a fair question.

I smiled. "Because I know that Konan believes in Naruto as much as we do. Besides, even when she was a member of the Akatsuki, she cared for Nagato more than anything else. I know that she would rather die than let any harm come to Nagato's body".

With the summit over, I teleported over to the place where we hid Nagato and Yahiko's bodies. When I got there, I froze at what I saw. Next to Yahiko's body, where Nagato should have been, was an empty space.

As I was trying to figure out what happened, I realised something was missing. 'Where's Konan?' I dispatched my snakes to scour every inch of the Hidden Rain, but she was gone. I couldn't even sense her chakra.

Seeing no other choice, I teleported back to the Hidden Cloud.

When I arrived, I found Gaara, Aunty Tsunade, the Raikage, and the Mizukage all waiting for me. I noticed how the Tsuchikage was the only person who wasn't there, which meant he wasn't back yet.

"The Rinnegan's gone!" I told them as soon as I landed. Their eyes widened in concern. "I didn't see Konan either. I dispatched my snakes to try and find her, but didn't find her. I looked all over the village!"

"How do we know this girl didn't just leave with the Rinnegan?" the Mizukage pondered.

"Because if she did, she would've taken Yahiko's body as well as Nagato". I clenched my fists. "This was Madara's doing, I know it. I believe Konan's dead, it's the only explanation". Now we had even more reason to win this war.

With my report complete, all we had to do was wait for the Tsuchikage's return. Eventually, the Tsuchikage returned with the entire island. We decided it would be best to safeguard them at the Hidden Cloud Village.

Apparently, Kabuto did go after the Jinchūriki, but instead, managed to capture Captain Yamato. Not long after that, the team Aunty Tsunade sent to try and track down the enemy's hideout found it. We also got new headbands for the Allied Shinobi Forces.

Finally, after a lot of preparation, we were ready for war. We separated the shinobi into 9 units: 1. mid-range battle unit led by Darui, 2. the close-range battle unit led by Kitsuchi of the Hidden Stone, 3. the intermediate battle unit led by Kakashi Sensei, 4. the long-range battle unit led by Gaara, and 5. the special-range battle unit led by Mifune. And of course, the commando unit led by Kankurō, the intel unit led by Lord Inoichi, the sensory unit led by Ao, and the medical unit led by Shizune. I was placed in the 4th unit (under Gaara's watch, might I add).

The plan was for me to join Gaara's unit in the beginning, but when it seemed like they could handle themselves, I would split off from them in search of Itachi. The only reason the Kage agreed to this was because I told them I would be searching for Sasuke and Kabuto, which was also on the agenda.

With everything ready, we all marched off to war.
