Not long after the situation with Seiichi and Kabuto, a meeting for the Five Kage was called, and I was entitled to be there. The Raikage was kind enough to let the Hidden Cloud serve as the headquarters for the Allied Shinobi Forces.

We started the meeting by discussing the Jinchūriki. "Where will we hide away the two crucial Jinchūriki?" the Tsuchikage asked.

Aunty Tsunade turned to him in surprise and anger. "Naruto and Bee can lend us battle strength! Why hide them away?" I stayed quiet.

"At first, I thought so as well, but our enemy's goal in this war is to possess those two. Considering what could happen, we cannot let them participate. It's what we all decided at the last meeting. Of course, you were still unconscious, Princess," the Tsuchikage answered.

"Our enemy is Madara! Hold that strength and we'll lose our chance to win and we won't get another. We must hit them hard!"

Gaara cut her off. "The Five Great Nations' aim in this war is to protect those two. Your sole descent as Hokage is not enough. Majority shall rule. I know Naruto quite well. He takes too many risks, especially when it comes to his friends. That is why".

She turned to me. "(Y/N)? I thought you, of all people, would be against this".

I took a deep breath. "I was, at first. Naruto is my friend and I believe he could be a valuable asset in this war, but now is not the time to be biased. Our goal is to protect him and putting him on the battlefield is like handing him over on a silver platter. Besides, you are forgetting one crucial fact. Naruto hasn't yet learned how to control the Nine-Tails. If he loses control of that power on the battlefield, the results could be disastrous". With that, she had no choice but to agree with us.

"Let's decided where to hide the Eight and Nine-Tails," the Raikage said. "I have just the place in mind. It lies inside the Hidden Cloud, which so far, hasn't produced any Akatsuki members. I set it aside, in case". With that, we were all in agreement.

Later, I was standing by a window staring at the horizon and thinking about the approaching war when Aunty Tsunade approached me. "How are you feeling?"

"To be honest, I'm a little overwhelmed," I admitted. "Everyone seems to believe I can lead this army, but I don't even believe it".

"I believe it". She turned to me. "I have an idea, something to motivate you. If we win this war, I will automatically promote you to Chūnin. Consider this war your Chūnin exams".

I looked at her in surprise. "Huh?" When I finally figured out what she meant, I smiled softly and looked back down at the village. "That's right. With everything that's been going on, I forgot I never actually passed the Chūnin Exams". I turned back to her. "Thank you".

She left only to be replaced by Gaara. "How are you?"

I turned to him. "Are you sure you didn't make a mistake in nominating me to lead this army?"

He gave me a soft smile. "Not even a little. As I said, there is no one more qualified than you. I believe in you, as your friend".

"Are you sure you didn't make a mistake with that too?" He looked at me in confusion. "I mean, after everything I did, how can you stand there and call me your friend? I killed you! How is it so easy for you to forgive me?"

He looked at me calmly. "Because I know you didn't mean it. You were just doing what could for your mission".

"But I could've stopped it! I should have! Instead, I stood back and watched the Akatsuki, people that I considered my friends, drain the life out of you!"

He pulled me in for a hug to calm me down. When we pulled away, he looked me in the eyes. "Even after all that happened, you came back. You came back to make sure I was okay".

I looked at him in confusion. "What?" My eyes widened as I was brought back to when Gaara was resurrected. "How do you know about that?"

He smiled softly at me. "Because I saw you, and so did Temari and Kankurō. And it made me happy to know you still cared about me. It gave me hope that there was still some good in you". It made me really happy to hear those words. His smile slowly faded. "I read your journals. Are you okay?"

I stepped away from him and narrowed my eyes as I turned back to the window. "No, but now is not the time to be weak. I have a job to do. I have to kill my hateful older brother".

He opened his mouth to say something, probably to scold me for my way of thinking, when I noticed something strange. My marriage bracelet was starting to change back to blue, but it stopped before it could change fully, staying halfway between black and blue.

I tapped Gaara's arm to get his attention. "Gaara, look". I drew his attention to my bracelet.

He looked for confused than shocked. "Your journals said that if you were happily married, your bracelets would be blue. If you ever separated for whatever reason, the bracelets would turn red. If one of you died, the bracelet would turn black".

I nodded. "But now, the bracelet is merging between blue and black, almost as though it's confused. It doesn't know whether my husband is alive or dead". My eyes widened as I realised what that meant. "Itachi's been reanimated. There is only one person alive that knows the reanimation Jutsu, Kabuto. Which means Kabuto's joined the war".

Not long after that, Aunty Tsunade and I had to go back home. Gaara and I didn't get the chance to tell anyone what we discovered. But now I had a new mission: I needed to find Itachi, preferably before Sasuke did.
