After we got back to the village, we went back to doing small jobs, although Sasuke and Naruto had gotten a lot more competitive to the point where it drove me and Sakura crazy. At least Sakura and I were getting along slightly better than before. One day, Kakashi Sensei sent us home early because we didn't have enough teamwork. I blamed it on the two idiots.

Sasuke and I were about to head home when Sakura called out to him. "Why don't we do something personal? I mean, to improve our teamwork". I rolled my eyes.

Sasuke turned around. "I swear, you're just as bad as Naruto. Instead of flirting, why don't you practice your Jutsu and make the team stronger? Let's face it, you're actually worse than Naruto". Then he turned around and kept walking.

I gave her a sympathetic smile before turning around and running off to catch up with Sasuke. "Sasuke, you weren't wrong, but that was going a bit too far, don't you think?" He just kept walking.

A while later, we had to go back because we saw Sakura, Naruto and three kids getting picked on by foreign shinobi. We hopped on a tree and Sasuke threw a rock at this guy with purple face paint, grabbing his attention.

"Hey guys, sorry we're late," I said to my friends.

Suddenly, we heard a voice. "Kankurō, back off".  I turned to see a guy with red hair and bags under his eyes hanging upside down on a branch on the other side of the tree we were in. "You're an embarrassment to our village". Everyone was rendered speechless by his presence.

I jumped off the tree and landed next to Sakura to get a better look at the guy. He seemed to scare the other two a lot. I was also sensing immense chakra from him. He disappeared into sand and reappeared right in front of me.

They explained that they were here from the Village Hidden in the Sand and that they were here for the Chūnin Exams. "Wait, the Chūnin Exams are now?" I exclaimed. "I didn't realise it was so soon".

"What are the Chūnin Exams?" Naruto asked, clueless as always.

"The Chūnin Exams are an exam giving us, Genin, the opportunity to get promoted to Chūnin. It's designed to test your skills, and teamwork," I explained as best as I could. I couldn't help but glance between Naruto and Sasuke when I mentioned 'teamwork'.

They turned to leave. Sasuke jumped down beside me. "Identify yourself, the one with the Gourd".

The stranger stopped to answer his question. "I'm Gaara of the Desert".

Sasuke replied, "I'm Sasuke Uchiha".

They moved to leave but two women walked past us, causing everyone to stop in their tracks. We could all hear what they were saying. "It's that girl. I heard her father is You-Know-Who".

"I heard he experimented on her before he went rogue".

"Poor girl".

They all stared straight at me, knowing the women were talking about me. I just stared at the ground. I turned around to walk away. "Come on Sasuke, let's go".

We were walking away when Gaara called out to me. "What's your name?"

I stopped walking and turned my head to the side. "(Y/N)". Without waiting for anyone to say anything, I walked away.

As soon as we got home, I collapsed on my bed face first with a groan. "I really hate being my father's daughter".

I heard a chuckle. I sat up to see Sasuke leaning casually against the door-frame. "Unfortunately, we don't get to choose our family".

I smirked. "Obviously. I am related to you, after all". I threw my pillow at him to prove my point.
