I am going to the doctor today for my checkup. I should be able to get a smaller cast and be able to move around after today. My ribs are not hurting me as bad anymore and my arm is really itchy. Austin helped me get dressed before he got in the shower. Hanna is coming to watch the kids while we go to the doctor. I walk downstairs and Aubrey grabs onto my leg and holds on. “No go.” I sigh, “Aubrey I will be right back sweetie. I promise.” “No.” She wraps her arms tighter around my leg. I hear a doorbell and can’t move to get it. “COME IN!” I look and see Hanna walk in. She looks at me then down at Aubrey. I mouth ‘Help’. She laughs and comes over and bends down to my leg. “Aubrey, how about we get some ice cream and play princesses?” Aubrey looks up at her and nods, “Okay.” She slowly lets go of my leg and wraps her arms and legs around Hanna before she stands up and has Aubrey holding on like a monkey. “I will be back soon baby.” She nods and kisses me, “Crefwul.” I smile and laugh, “Its careful and I will be sweetie.” Austin comes down and hugs Aubrey, “We will be right back princess and I will take care of mommy.” She nods and kisses him.
We walk out the door and Austin helps me into his car. We found out the insurance company is totaling out my car. I have to get a new one and Austin said he will take me to get one when I can move around more. Austin pulls up to the building and parks the car. He comes around and helps me out and walks me into the building. We check in and sit down to wait. Austin leans over and holds my hand. “How are you feeling?” I shrug, “Better than I was.” He kisses me and leans back in the chair as we wait.
We are called back and Austin helps me onto the table. A few minutes later the doctor walks in. “Lay back so I can examine your ribs.” I lay down and lift my shirt so he examine them. “Okay you can put your shirt down.” He looks over my arm and cast. “You need to keep your cast on for another two weeks but I am going to recast it. Pink again?” I nod and he writes in his cart, “Your ribs are healing nicely and you can do small activities and move around but nothing strenuous.” I nod and he smiles, “I will have the nurse come in to fix your cast then you can leave.” “Thank you.” He shakes our hands and walks out. The nurse comes in a few minutes later and fixes my cast. “Okay, you are good to go. Have a good day.” I smile and thank her as Austin and I walk out and back to his car.
Austin helps me in the car and starts to drive home. “Do you want to go look at cars today?” I shrug, “Sure.” He turns and heads to the car dealership. We pull in and park. The car salesman comes out and starts to talk with us. “This is a nice car.” I sigh, “I know what I like and what I don’t, I want to look and then I will come get you.” He looks taken aback but smiles and nods, “Okay.” I look around at other SUV’s because I did like my car even though I didn’t have it long. I find the same car I had but in a different color. “Austin I think I want this car again, I loved it and the kids stayed safe.” He nods, “Okay baby.” Austin walks away to talk to the car salesman.
Couple hours later and I have the car. I smile and hug Austin, “Thank you.” He hugs me and kisses me, “Now we need someone to come get the car.” I laugh and call Trish, “Can you have Dez bring you to the car dealership to pick up my new car and drive it home for me.” I hang up and smile at Austin, “She will be here soon.” Ten minutes later and I see Dez pull up and get out after Trish. Trish comes over and hugs me, “You look like you feel better.” I smile, “I do.” Dez hugs me too. I hand the keys to Trish, “Just drive it to my house please.” She takes the keys and hugs me, “Of course.” We all go to the cars and drive to my house.
Trish parks the car in the usual spot and Austin parks next to her. Dez parks behind us. We all get out and Trish hugs me, “I have to go home but be careful sweetie.” I smile and hug her back. Dez hugs me and then does his and Austin’s handshake with Austin. We watch as they go get in the car and drive off. Austin smiles and kisses me, “Let’s go show Aubrey you are okay.” I smile and hold his hand as we walk into the house.
Aubrey runs up and points at me, “You hurt?” I smile and shake my hair, “I am better baby.” She smiles, “You okay?” I laugh and nod, “Yeah I am okay baby.” She smiles and Austin picks her up and she kisses me and hugs me. Hanna comes in and looks at me, “What did he say?” I smile, “My ribs are healing great I can move around and do stuff but I have to take it easily.” She smiles and hugs me, “Well I am going to go. Call me if you need anything.” I nod, “I will.” She hugs Aubrey and walks out the door. Austin takes Aubrey into the living room to see Aiden crawling around. I smile and walk in. “What are we going to do for his birthday?” Austin shrugs, “I don’t know, maybe just have a cake and invite or friends and family over.” I smile and nod, “That sounds good.”
Austin puts Aubrey down and picks Aiden up and Aiden looks at him and then at me. He looks at Austin and reaches his hand to Austin’s face, “Daaey.” I look at Aiden shocked, “What did you say baby?” He looks at me and Austin, “Daaey.” I smile, “He is trying to say daddy.” Austin is staring shocked at Aiden. I look at him and he is crying. “Austin?” He looks at me and has tears running down his face, “This is amazing.” I smile and walk over and hug them both. “I love you both. You are my boys.” Aubrey comes over and hugs our legs, “Me.” I smile and look at her, “We love you too baby.” I look down and smile. I sit down on the couch as Austin and Aiden sit on the floor and Aubrey curls up next to me. I smile at Aiden as he keeps trying to say daddy and Aubrey hugging my arm. These are the moments I love. My kids showing how grown up they are getting and how smart they are and Austin being right there with it.
