Life changes.

Hospital and care

I hear screaming from outside the car. I hear crying inside the car. However, everything seems distant in a way. I hear everything but it also seems far away. I sit up and look behind me to check on Aubrey and Aiden. Aubrey is crying and has tears streaming down her face. Aiden is crying and looking around scared. I feel something and look outside as I realize another car just hit me. How the fuck did another idiot just hit me. I see someone at my window as I open my door. A guy reaches in and cuts my seat belt. “Are you okay?” I nod and look behind me when his face goes into shock. “She has kids in here.” I watch two women show up behind him and one goes and gets Aiden and another gets Aubrey. “I am going to help you out. Okay?” I nod and he puts his arm around me and helps me out of the car.

 He walks me to the curb and sits me down. “I was on my work, when you got hit. Lucky for you.” I look at him, “What are you?” He laughs, “EMS.” I laugh and he looks at me, “I called my partner and they are on the way, along with the cops.” I nod, “Thank you.” The woman come over with my babies, “Are they okay?” They both nod  as they try to soothe them, but the screaming is getting worse. I feel pain start to take over and the guy looks at me, “Can I check you out quickly?” I nod and watch him bend down and start to check me over. “I figured this happened.” I look at him, “Your airbag deployed. I thought you were lucky you weren’t hurt but looks like you did end up hurt after all.” “What happened?”

He looks around, “Well you got hit on the side by a the guy over there who turned quickly and says he didn’t see you. Then as I got out and a few others, this girl came flying down the road and hit you in the back.” “Fuck.” He laughs, “That’s a way to put it.” “How is my car?” He shakes his head, “Not good. Your back window shattered, your side is dented in bad and your side bumper is bad. And we had to cut your seat belt, so not good.” I look at him and shake my head as I see the ambulance pull up next to us and the cops right behind them. The guy gets up to talk to them. I look at my kids as the pain hits me hard. The guy comes over, “I didn’t see her, but do we really have to do all of this?” I turn to him, “Didn’t fucking see me? I had the green arrow and had my turn signal on and when I was turning you were nowhere to be seen. You had to fucking see me but figured I would be gone before you got to me. You’re just a fucking idiot who hit me with two kids in the car.” He shakes his head and walks back to his car.

The cop comes over, “Hello, I am officer Parker.” I smile at him, “Wow, you don’t look good ma’am.” I sigh and he shakes his head, “I’m sorry. I didn’t get your name.” “Ally Dawson.” “Ally, Can I get your point of view?” I nod, “I was at the light and it turned into the green arrow. I started to turn when I felt myself be thrown and then I hear the noise of metal hitting metal. Everything was loud and noises and echoing when I saw a guy and he helped me out of the car and then those woman got my kids out.” He nods, “The guy over there says he didn’t see you, did you see him at all?” I shake my head, “He was nowhere to be seen.” He nods and pats my shoulder, “Don’t worry none of this was your fault and we are going to take you and your kids to the hospital to get checked out and I will call and get a rental car sent to the hospital.” I look at him, “Aren’t I suppose to call and get a rental?” He shakes his head, “Yes, but I just want you to get your kids to the hospital. I will take care of it personally.”

The EMS guys come over, “Thank you Miss. Dawson and I will get that car to you.” I smile, “Thank you.” The one guy helps me up and helps walk me to the car. I see the guy that helped me get Aiden, “I am going with.” I look at him, “Your car?” He laughs, “My wife is taking it home, She was with me.” He waves and I see she was the one that had Aiden. The lady in the back gets Aubrey and holds her and tries to check her out as the guy has me on the stretcher trying to get a good overview of what is wrong with me.
