Life changes.

Good

It's been a few weeks since everything went down between Alex and I. A lot has happened and it has just been crazy. Aubrey had her birthday, she is now three. Alex of course came and was there for Aubrey and tried a lot to woe me as he said. After dinner that night, I put the kids to bed and while Austin slept and I stayed awake and thought over the whole conversation we had in his room all those days ago again and again.

I am sitting on the couch while all the kids nap when Austin walks in and sits on the couch with a sigh. I smile and look over at him, "Rough day?" he nods, "I am so glad this semester is almost over." I laugh and shake my head. He looks at me and yawns, "Did you get the call from Melinda?" I shake my head, "She wants to meet with both of us since we are getting married in little over a year?" I nod and look back at the television, "When does she want to do that?" He lays his head in my lap and I smile down at him as I run my fingers through his hair making him smile lazily. "Tomorrow." I look down at him crazy, "Austin, we can't..." He nods against my legs, "I told her that. I have school and you have the kids. She said that was okay but we have to meet with her as soon as we can." I look at him, "The next break we get is thanksgiving and then we are done for the semester." He nods, "Already set it up with her for one day during thanksgiving break." I smile and lean down to kiss his cheek. "Thank you." He shrugs and pulls his legs up. "It's what I do."

Austin falls asleep in my lap and I play with his hair as I watch television.

The twins wake up and I get up slowly moving Austin with me and then laying his head back down as he curls up with the couch. I laugh and walk into the twins room and pick up Adam who is whining. I smile down at him, "Hey baby, what's wrong?" I walk over to the table and change his diaper before walking into the kitchen and getting two bottles made. I carry Adam and both bottles with me back to the room.

I sit the one bottle on the dresser before sitting in the rocker with Adam and feeding him. He looks up at me as I feed him and I get lost in his eyes. He is just so adorable. I know I am bias but I think he is just so cute. I smile at him and he moves a hand up to grab my hand. I give him a finger which he wraps his little hand around and holds while we finish his bottle.

I burp him and rock him to sleep as I sing softly to him. Within minutes I hear little sounds coming from him and I look at his little face and see him asleep. I smile and stand up placing him in his crib. I turn and see Asher starting to wake up. It's like clockwork. I smile and walk over and pick him up, "Hey baby." I change his diaper and sit down in the rocker with him for his own mommy time while I feed him. He looks up at me like Adam did but he is different. He is cute and I love him but Adam has those eyes that you can just get lost in while Asher is just cute. They are twins but I can tell them apart where others can't. I can see which one is which by their eyes and the way they act. He moves his hand to my arm and places it there while I hold the bottle. I smile and lean down kissing his forehead.

I move him closer against me and start to rock softly as we finish his bottle. I place the now empty bottle next to Adam's empty one and smile as I place him up to my shoulder and start to burp him. After a few minutes I hear a burp and smile. I pat his back seeing if there are anymore in there. Once he is fully burped I lean back and rock with him as I sign softly. He is harder to get down sometimes. After a couple songs his eyes start to flutter. I smile and lean down kissing his forehead. I sing another song and his eyes fall completely shut half way through it. I finish the song and smile at him before standing up and placing him back in his crib to finish out his nap. If the twins don't finish their naps they are cranky and nothing will get done. No one will be happy.

I grab the empty bottles and walk out the room pulling the door up. I walk past a snoring Austin on the couch to the kitchen. I rinse and clean the bottles out before laying them to dry. I get dinner out and start to season it. I hear movement and stop to see where it is coming from. I walk to the doorway and poke my head around and I see Austin move on the couch. I move closer to the living room and I see him hug the arm of the couch, "Ally." He sighs in content before falling back asleep. I laugh and turn to walk back into the kitchen to finish getting dinner ready. Once it is all in the pan I pre-heat the oven and turn the dishwasher on while I wait. Within a few minutes I hear a beep and turn and place the pan in the oven. I set the timer and put everything away. Turning the light off I walk back into the living room and sit down in the recliner and grab my book and start to read.
