Life changes.

Going to see grandpa

Austin has been gone a few weeks now. Alex has been here on and off, He is doing the concerts close to home. Pictures of Alex and I have been surfacing a lot, people think I am cheating on Austin with Alex. No matter how many times Alex, Austin or I come out saying we are just friends, it doesn’t matter. Lately we even got a ship name. Mine and Austin’s is Auslly and mine and Alex’s is Alexlly. Aubrey has been having tantrums since Austin left and has been picking on Aiden.

I look down as Aubrey takes a toy from Aiden. “Aubrey, give that back to your brother.” She shakes her head. Sighing I stand up, “Aubrey Faith Moon, give that toy back right now.” She starts crying and I look at her, “Quit crying and give the toy back.” She looks up at me and throws the toy at Aiden who in return starts to cry.  “AUBREY!” I pick Aiden up and try to comfort him as Aubrey throws herself on the ground and starts to cry because I yelled at her. “No, I will not baby you for throwing something at your brother. That was mean and you were bad.” She looks up at me with those puppy eyes as she cries and I shake my head at her resulting in more crying.  “It’s nap time anyway Aubrey.” She shakes her head and I run a hand through my hair as I look at Aiden as he sucks his thumb. I kiss his forehead and put him down. Walking over I pick Aubrey up and carry her upstairs and lay her down in her bed. “Nap time.” I turn her night light on and walk out of the room closing her door.

Walking back downstairs I hear her crying on the baby monitor. I pick Aiden up and get his bottle from the fridge. Sitting down on the couch I feed him. Aiden puts his hand on my cheek. “Your sister loves you.” He looks at me like he understands what I am saying. “She is just grumpy.” I kiss his forehead as his eyes close. “I love you baby boy.” I burp him and take him upstairs to put to bed. Once they are both in bed, I walk into my room and take my clothes off as I get into the shower.

I am almost done with my shower when I hear the house phone ringing. Mentally I cuss as I wrap a towel around myself and run into the bedroom. I slid across the floor and run my hip right into the bed. Cussing I pick the phone up. I hear my dad laughing. “Did I call at a bad time?” My cheeks heat up, “Daddy, I’m sorry. I ran into the bed and it hurt. I was in the shower, when you called.” He laughs, “I’m sorry sweetie, I was just wondering if I could see the kids today.” I laugh and sit on the bed, “Yes, of course dad. I will come by once the kids wake up from their nap.” “Okay, see you then sweetie.” The line goes dead and I shake my head as I place the phone back in the holder. I walk back into the bathroom to finish my shower.

Once I am showered and dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, I hear Aubrey. “MOMMA!?” Sighing I walk into her room and see her standing up. “Yes sweetie?” She throws her arms up. I pick her up and she wraps her legs around me and her arms. “I sorry.” I look at her, “Sorry for what sweetie?” She pulls back and looks at me, “Being mwean to Ahden.” I laugh and kiss her forehead, “It’s okay baby, You have to be nicer to him though baby.” She nods and hugs me again. I hug her back and kiss her head, “How about we get you ready to go see grandpa today?” She smiles, “YESSS.” I smile and set her down and walk over grabbing clothes. I take her shirt off and put on a pink shirt with a tiara on it and under it says ‘princess’, and a pair of leggings with a tutu connected to it. She smiles and picks out a pair of white sandals she wants to wear. I put them on her and let her curls stay free. “I have to go get Aiden ready. Play with your toys.” She nods and sits down and starts to play with her doll.

Walking across the hall I pick Aiden up and dress him in a shirt that says ‘My dad is a rock star’ and a pair of jean leggings. I put on his blue high top baby shoes Austin bought him and kiss his cheek as I walk across the hall and set him in Aubrey’s room. “Aubrey I have to finish getting ready. Be nice.” “I will.” I smile and walk back into my room and put a light zip up jacket on over my shirt. I brush my hair and leave it down. I put on a pair of wedges and grab my aviators and phone before walking into Aubrey’s room. “Ready to go?” She smiles and stands up squealing. “Yes.” I pick Aiden up and grab Aubrey’s hand as we walk downstairs. I grab the diaper bag by the door and throw it on my shoulder. “Come on.” I lock the door back and put Aubrey in her seat. “Let me get your brother in, then I buckle you.” She shakes her head, “got it.” She works with the straps as I put Aiden in his seat and buckle him in. I put the diaper bag in the floorboard and walk back around the car to get Aubrey buckled in. I kiss her cheek and hand her her doll before getting in the driver’s seat.

I pull into my dad’s driveway. He comes out and gets Aubrey, “You look amazing sweetie. You truly are a little princess.” She smiles that smile that will make you give her everything. I laugh and grab Aiden and the diaper bag. We walk into my dads house and I sit back on the couch as he plays with them and enjoys time with them. Two hours later my dads phone does off and I watch him look at it then sigh, “I have to go to the store.” I smile and stand up, “That’s fine. I should probably get them home anyway.” He looks at the time and smiles. “I will help you get them back in the car.” This time he picks up Aiden and carries him out as I pick up Aubrey and take her and put her back in the car. My dad comes around and hugs me, “They are getting so big.” I smile, “Yeah, they are growing up so fast.” He kisses my cheek, “You don’t know how fast yet sweetie, wait till they are saying they have a baby on the way.” I look at him, “I know I was young but…” He puts his hand up, “You are an amazing mother. You were young and yes, I do wish everything happens a few years later than it did, but you have made everything work and I couldn’t imagine you not having these two and being a mother now.” I smile and he kisses my cheek again, “You will always be my little girl though.” I tear up a little and watch as he smiles, “Get home safe. I love you.” I get in my car, “I love you too dad.” Closing the door I pull out and start heading to McDonalds.

Paying for the food, I thank the lady. I hand Aubrey a chicken nugget and French fry as I pull out and start to head home. I am two blocks away from the house. I stop at the red light. I have to make this turn and then I only have to turn onto my street. I see the light turn green and I start making the left turn, when I feel myself get thrown and metal hitting metal.
