Life changes.

For the first time.

It has been weeks since I saw Alex. He is busy with his record. He text me at least once a day to ask how I am and how Austin is doing. Austin is not doing well at all. He is running on no sleep every day. I have been trying to let him get some sleep but it just doesn't work. I managed to get the kids up the other day and dressed so quiet that he was still asleep. I went to the bathroom for a second and came out to Aubrey hitting his leg calling, "daddy. Daddy." He woke up and just took over. I tried to help him with the kids but he just shakes his head and tells me to sit down.

Today I got the kids up and dressed. We were about to walk out the door when Aiden ran into the wall and starting crying. I picked him up and was calming him down when Aubrey sat down on the floor and started to scream. I heard his feet hit the ground and come running a few seconds before his messy hair showed itself. He took the kids and got them to calm down and play.

I am sitting on the couch watching a princess movie. I look over and see the kids asleep with their toys. Getting up I cover the kids up before turning the lights off and letting them sleep. I turn and see Austin with his head hanging to the side fast asleep. I turn the television off cover Austin up. I walk the quietest I can to the steps. I look over and see them all asleep and realize I could use a nap too. I slowly make it up the steps and into bed. I lay down and close my eyes as the softness of the bed overcomes me.

I wake up to my phone going off. I pick it up and place it to my ear. "Hello?" I hear that all too familiar laugh, "Hey Ally. How are you? How is Austin?" I turn my head to the side still with my eyes closed. "I am okay. Tired but good. Austin is so exhausted. He is finally sleeping right now. He is downstairs with the kids." I hear noise and then, "I was wondering if everyone would want to go to dinner but it seems like you guys won't want to go anywhere." I laugh and open one eye to look at the time before closing it again. "Probably not, but you can always come by for dinner. It may be pizza again though." He laughs and I hear a sigh, "How about I pick something up for dinner and then take care of the kids while Austin gets some sleep and you can go outside or relax in a bath?" I smile, "That is really nice. Austin needs it." I hear noise, "I have to go but I will be over soon. Get some more sleep. Bye Ally." With a yawn I manage a, "Bye Alex." I let my hand fall before pulling a blanket up over me and curling into the warmth of the blanket.

I wake up to slight noise downstairs. I roll a little bit to get off the bed. Once I feel my feet hit the floor I push myself up completely and pull my shirt down over my growing stomach as. I pad my way through my door and down the hallway. I look down the stairs and hear a slight noise. I make my way down the stairs and stop at the landing and look around the corner into the living room to see Aiden up and moving around. I smile and tip toe over to him. I bend down and smile. "Mommy." I place a finger to my lips as I look over at Aubrey still asleep. I cast a glance at Austin and see him asleep with his mouth wide open and stiffle a laugh. I smile and whisper to Aiden, "How about we go outside to play?" He looks up at Austin and nods. I pick him up and place him over my hip and he fixes his leg over my stomach as we walk through the kitchen and out the back door. I close it back softly and place him down and he smiles and takes off to some of his toys. I sit down in a chair and watch him run around and play. No a care in the world. I wish he could stay like this. Stay this care free and happy but he will have to grow up and figure out that life is not all happiness and fun. I hate thinking about that happening to my little boy but I'm not stupid and I know he is growing up and I have to let him.

We stay outside for about an hour until I hear something in the house. I turn and see Aubrey running around the kitchen. I look at Aiden and cuss slightly. I get up and open the door and Aubrey stops and looks at me. "Come out and play." She looks at me then past me at Aiden and nods and runs out the door and starts to chase Aiden around as I slowly close the door. "Did you dad hear you?" She shakes her head and I let out a sigh of relief as I sit back down and watch my kids enjoy playing outside and with each other.
