Life changes.

One.

Today is Aiden’s birthday. He is one. I can’t believe my little boy is already one, this is crazy. Austin has been with Aiden none stop lately. Aiden is getting a lot better at saying daddy. Aubrey has been with me because my cast is still on my arm. I went back but it was healing how they thought and I have to keep it on longer. I am fine besides that, I have been driving around some and I can lift Aubrey and Aiden now too. I look at Austin holding Aiden smiling at him. “I can’t believe he is one already.” I smile and watch Aiden touch Austin’s hair and smile at him. “You want to get him ready?” Austin nods and walks upstairs with Aiden to get him dressed. We are just having a little party at the house. Everything is set up and people should be here soon.

“Aubrey, do you want your pretty dress?” She shakes her head and walks over to her closet and picks out a pair of tights and a t-shirt. I shake my head and dress her in her clothes. I put her down to play with her toys and walk across the hall to Aiden’s room to see Austin dressed and holding up clothes to Aiden. “How about we go casual and cool?” He then shakes his head and lays it down, “Na, we are going to dress you just cool.” I look at the outfit and can’t help the laughter. He turns to me and smiles, “What?” I shake my head with my hands up, “Nothing. Just you are dressing him like you.” He smiles and shrugs, “He is going to be the best dressed one year old then.” I laugh and turn walking into my room to get dressed.

Not having got a shower yet I just pull my hair into a bun. I have gotten really good at doing stuff with one arm.  I pick out a pair of shorts and flowing top since it is hot outside. I pull the shorts up one side and then move my hand and fix the other side. I smile and zip them up and after a few minutes manage to button them. I grab the shirt and manage to get it on. I look in the mirror and smile, not bad with one arm and no shower. I walk to the closet and slip on my flip flops. I walk out of the room and see Austin holding Aiden in his arms and holding Aubrey’s hand. “You look nice.” I smile, “Thanks.” He leans in and kisses me. I pick Aubrey up and she wraps her legs around my waist as I start walking downstairs. I put her down and go get the cake out of the fridge.  I hear the doorbell and then Austin talking.

I round the corner and see Alex smiling and holding Aiden with Austin now holding a wrapped box. I shake my head and look at Austin trying to figure out what the present is.  Alex smiles at me, “You look nice.” I laugh and point at Austin, “He said the same thing.” Alex shrugs, “You do.” I smile, “Well thank you.” He moves Aiden to one arm and hugs me with the other. “How you feeling?” I shrug, “Great besides the arm but I’m getting used to it.” He nods and hands Aiden to me. He bends down and picks Aubrey up and spins her around and takes off to the living room to play dolls.

Trish and Dez show up and Dez disappears outside to the backyard. Trish is helping me make sure everything is ready. “How are you feeling Ally?” I shrug, “Okay, the arm is a little sore but I’m fine.” She nods and puts the pizza on the stove that the guy just brought. “Our parents should be here any minute.” She nods and looks around, “Where is the birthday boy?” I shrug, “Find Austin, he probably has him.” She laughs and looks at me, “Wait, your serious?” I nod, “He has been with him all the time, you won’t find one without the other.” She nods and turns to go find my boys.

I hear a knock on the doorframe and see my dad standing there, “Hey sweetie.” I smile and run up and hug him. “I’ve missed you.” he smiles and hugs me tight, “I missed you too sweetie. I was freaking out when I heard you were in the car accident. Austin assured me he was on his way home and Alex was with you. I wanted to get in my car and drive straight down here.” I smile and hug him, “I’m okay dad, Alex and Austin took good care of me.” He nods and looks at me arm, “When does it come off?” I shrug and pull away, “I don’t know, it was suppose to be off a week ago but it wasn’t healed so they said I have to wear it longer.” He nods and hugs me again, “I’m glad you are okay sweetie.” I smile and kiss his cheek, “I love you daddy.” He smiles wide, “I love you too baby.” He hugs me and looks around, “Where is my grandson?” I laugh and shrug, “Find Austin and you will find him. Good luck getting him from him though.” He laughs and shakes his head, “That won’t be a problem, He got my princess pregnant and is marrying her, I can assure you he will give me Aiden.” I laugh and push him out of the room, “Go find my fiancée and son.”
