"Remember, if we win today, or not, I'm proud of everyone." James was giving us a little pep talk in the stands before the match, he had us huddled in a circle and he was taking it so seriously I had to not look at Marlene before we both burst out laughing.

We all were feeling the nerves before the game but I was more excited than scared, I loved Quidditch and I was happy just to play it regardless.

"And free pints!" I added.

"Yeah free pints." James chuckled. "My point is, as long as we play fairly even if we lose we're the better team."

"Now let's crush those snakey bastards!" Marlene cheered, not really getting the point of James's speech but we all cheered in agreement. We were tired of putting up with Slytherin and we used Quidditch to get it all out that was clear.

We all flew out into the pitch, every house except Slytherin was cheering for us but no one cheered louder than the Gryffindors. Sirius had enchanted all the lions on our banners to roar which really set the atmosphere. Tension was high, everyone was excited.

Slytherin flew out opposite us, Reg winked over at me and I rolled my eyes, really hoping I wasn't blushing.

"Last match of the school year who's excited?" Remus's voice came over the megaphone, it was worth playing matches just to hear Remus commenting. Everyone cheered so loudly the trolls in the mountains could probably hear it.
"Madam Hooch is about to release the Quaffle...And the match begins!"

I dived in to grab the Quaffle but Reg was too quick. He flew up towards our goal doing everything he could to dodge incoming tackles. "Mini Black has the ball, I should probably stop saying that before I get hate-crimed by some particularly funny looking Slytherins. Anyway, he is heading towards the goal and..."

I took my chance and dived in for a tackle. "Thanks Reg!" I grinned and took off towards the Slytherin goal.

"Hope is restored as Y/N Potter takes the Quaffle... McGonagall says I need to stay impartial and I totally am...Go Gryffindor!" I made a faint like I was going to shoot, then at the last second passed to James who slammed it into a goal.

The stands errupted into cheers, but no one was cheering louder than Lily Evans.

James distracted me by accident with a dumb little victory dance which made me laugh but I was snapped back to my senses when I heard Remus.

"Oh shit there is a bludger heading straight for
Y/n Potter, shot by Mulciber- fucking hell Y/n move!" He urged into the microphone and I turned around to look, Reg had dived in front of it. The bludger hit him right in the chest and he plummeted to the ground.

"Aresto Momentum!" Dumbledore bellowed and Reg gently drifted to the floor like a feather in the wind, definitely unconscious. Madam Pomfrey, Professor slughorn and Professor McGonagall hurried over and I bolted down on my broom and rushed over to him even though it technically wasn't allowed and the entire school was watching. The audience were silent for a second until all you could hear from the crowds was confused and worried murmurs. "Reg! Is he breathing?" I knelt down next to him.

His eyes were shut, he had a couple of scratches on his face but Madam Pomfrey nodded. "He needs to be taken to the hospital please try to calm down darling." She gave me a kind smile.

"He'll be okay won't he?" I didn't want to leave his side but there was a game to carry on.

"He'll be fine, come on Y/n we have a game to win." McGonagall put her hand on my shoulder and I nodded honestly trying not to cry.

"But Reg-" The most important thing in the world to me was seeing that he was okay but then I thought of James and how much he cared about this. Madam Pomfrey would take care of him, I would only get in her way in the hospital wing and I was needed here. I let go of his hand which I didn't even realize I was holding.
