Chapter 84 - The Party

When I walked into the common room, Sirius was putting up red balloons and Remus was setting up the record player but the party had not yet begun. They smiled when they saw me come in. "Y/n you're back!" Remus smiled.

Sirius gasped at the guitar I was holding "What is that!? Is that one of those guitar things? Oh y/n please let me try it pleeeeasseee!" He begged me rushing over to get a better look at my guitar.

"I will!" I laughed "Let me get in the door first, goodness me."

"We didn't know when you'd be back and Marlene figured you'd want to get ready so we told everyone party starts at 9." Remus smiled.

"Thank you, what did you guys do with James today?" I asked them as Sirius held my guitar and sat down, strumming some slightley off sounding chords on it.

"He made us have a quidditch tournament, I had to say yes because it was his birthday but then we went to the muggle world as well, I showed the boys an all-you-can-eat buffet. It's Peter's new favorite thing." He chuckled.

"What's that?" I asked confused.

"It's like a restaurant, but... Well it's all you can eat." Remus often got tired of explaining simple muggle things that weren't simple to us at all but he was always patient. "There's no limit of the amount of food you can get."

"That sounds incredible! We'll have to go some time." I smiled and had to wrestle my guitar off of Sirius. "I'm going to get ready I'll see you boys in a bit."

Gryffindors know how to have a good time and tonight was no exception. Some people view being a twin as only having half a birthday but for James and I, it's always been twice the fun. And as we got older, twice the fire whisky thanks to Remus Lupin who had looked 18 since he was a 4th year.

We had t-rex playing loudly on the record player and everyone was having fun and dancing. We had to use a major extension charm on the common room this year because so many people were invited. It was our whole year group except for mulciber and all the obvious ones.

One thing that was bothering me was there was no Reg. It was my birthday and he wasn't here. He said he would come. I was trying not to let it bother me while dancing with Mary and Lily while Marlene was arm wrestling Sirius for some reason. I walked away to get a drink, James happened to be stood at the same table.

"Happy birthday." We both said to each other in unison and laughed a little.

"What's bothering you?" He asked, immediately able to pick up on my mood.

"Reg. He's not here." I sighed.

"I'm sure there's a reason, he'll be along soon most likely." James said trying to comfort me. "Come on y/n it's a party." He said handing me a shot of something.

"What's this?" I asked him.

"We went around town today and could legally buy alcohol so we got a bunch of muggle drinks too. I think it's called vodka." He shrugged.

I didn't question it and drank some. It tasted like something I would make in potions. I was terrible at potions. "Ugh." I grimaced making a face. "That stuff is terrible."

"Seems to be working though." He grinned and pointed over at Remus who was making a drunk feminist speech on a table as "Cum on feel the noise" played in the background and people sang along

"Remus get down!" Peter called "you're going to fall."

"Not until women have their equal rights! Smash the patriarchy!" He yelled passionately and we all laughed and cheered his little tangent. Remus fell off the table, just like Peter had predicted, onto Peter and I laughed.
