It was the morning after the full moon, I went down for breakfast with Marlene and Mary, we walked arm in arm chattering about random topics as Mary told us about her muggle boyfriend. I tried to hide my worry for Remus and it wasn't hard as Marlene and Mary were so unintentionally comforting it was easy.

Mary had her dark hair down, it puffed out into an afro and she wore her gryffindor robes with a gold necklace (a gift from her muggle boyfriend) that brought out the golden flecks in her brown eyes. Marlene's hair was in a casual blonde ponytail, she had gryffindor robes on too but she had on eyeliner which I thought made her look a bit older than she was and it really helped to frame her face. Both my friends were very very pretty.

"He's about this tall," Mary smiled showing us around his height by reaching up her hand, "He's got blonde hair, brown eyes and he has a leather jacket sort of like Sirius." She giggled, it was a well known fact a lot of the girls in our year fancied Sirius. Mary had a soft spot for him I just knew it.

Marlene yawned. "Brilliant." She replied with feigned enthusiasm. There was an unspoken understanding that Marlene had never been interested in boys and she probably never would be.

"Sounds lovely." I gave her a smile and grabbed a good few slices of toast, folding them neatly into a napkin and stuffing them in my bag.

Marlene raised her eyebrow at my actions "saving them for later?"

"Remus was ill again last night." I explained, poor Remus had to come up with a lot of unexplained illnesses.

A look of sympathy was clear on both the girls faces, as always when I told them he was ill. "Oh bless his little cotten socks." Mary said as she got some of her cereal on a spoon.

Marlene laughed a little at her phrasing and I just knew Remus wouldn't like everyone fussing over him, he felt guilty when mine and James's parents bought him Christmas presents.

"I should go give him a visit, see you in class." I told the girls and walked off to the hospital wing.

.・✫・゜・。..・✫・゜・。.

I had to wait until Madam Pomfrey wasn't looking until I rushed over to Remus's bed, Bed three on the left as always, and drew the blue curtains. "Rise and shine." I smiled as I could tell he was already awake.

This time, he had no new scars which was strange. Not one. Usually he had a lot and was visibly in pain. "Wow had a good night?"

"Morning y/n." Remus smiled sleepily, he was sat up in his hospital bed. James, Sirius and Peter hadn't made it yet. Strange.

"Where are the others?" I asked getting some toast out my bag and I passed it to him along with a big bar of chocolate.

It was very unusual for the boys not to be here before me, James was an early bird anyway and he basically looked after all of us. Why wasn't he here?

When I sat on the end of Remus's bed, cross-legged facing him I must have been giving him a look because he raised his eyebrows "what is it?"

"You've got no scars, you seem fine." It was the first time I had ever seen him so healthy after a full moon. Ever.

Remus seemed hesitant on what he said "Uh easy night I suppose." This boy was so transparent

"Well I don't remember you having an easy night ever. It's nice to see you feeling okay." I smiled. "Maybe it comes with age?"

"Maybe." Remus smiled and adjusted his blanket as he began to get hot. I leaped up as a rat ran out from underneath and scrambled across the floor out of the hospital, squeaking. "Eurgh what the fuck!" My eyes widened in shock.

"Yeah I don't know how that got there- just leave it alright it's fine." Remus snapped a little, I'd seen him snap at people before but never me. I was clearly taken aback by this and didn't say anything, feeling a little hurt. "I'm sorry." He said quietly "you know I didn't mean it like that. I get snappy after the full moon."

I nodded, everything was on edge before and after the full moon with Remus and he couldn't help it. "It's alright I know." I smiled, it was so easy to forgive my sandy haired best friend, even though his tone hurt a little.

Before too long, Remus was fine to get out of bed which was unusual. Some times his transformation would give him broken bones or dislocated joints but thankfully not this time.
I didn't like how the boys were acting so strange with me but I let it slide. We walked out of the hospital wing together and went to find the others.

They were all in the boys dorm, asleep. The room was dark when I opened the door but I could make out the shape of Sirius's body, sprawled over the bed like a dog, various limbs dangling off the edge. Also the faint sound of James snoring, since when did they ever sleep at 3 in the afternoon? It was like they had been up all night.

"I'm going to go to the library." Remus said and I knew when he was I the library reading he preffered to be left alone.

I wasn't offended by this, we all needed time alone some times. "See you in a bit" I shut the boys dorm door and walked out to go get some food.

Of course I couldn't make it to the Hall with out bumping into Regulus and his side kicks. "Alright Potter?" Mulciber gave me the slimiest smile I've ever seen.

"What do you want?" I snapped trying to keep walking but he stood in my way and put a beefy arm around me.

"Finally alone are you? You're far too pretty for that scum you hang out with."  I honestly felt like I would vomit. Of course they think they can do this when I'm not with Sirius acting like a guard dog.

His little friends laughed, except Regulus who kept quiet. He looked like he was trying not to look bothered. "Pretty for a blood traitor anyway." Barty smirked.

I elbowed the bulldog like boy in the ribs as he went to put his arm around me and drew my wand "stupefy!" Mulicber went flying into a broom cupboard, the force he was flying at broke the door in and miscellaneous cleaning items fell on his head with a crash. Good.

The rest of the boys seemed hesitant to speak up, as they should. "I like you lot better when you shut the hell up." I said then walked away to get my food. This was definitely something I would not tell James about. For their sake.
