Spring slipped through our fingers as we spent time enjoying the sun and trying to make the most of our days at Hogwarts and so on enough it was June. Exam season. The only times I really got to see Reg was when I collapsed into bed in the room of requirements every other night, exhausted from the relentless workload and revising for my N.E.W.T.S.
I had been keeping consistent with my extra healing classes and had spent hours on end in the library after lessons ended. It was a depressing schedule of work, sleep, work, sleep but these results were important. It was the night before exams, Marlene and I were both studying hard for potions which was first thing tomorrow morning. No one else was in the common room, all that could be heard was our quills scratching away on the paper as we worked on practice questions and the crackle of the fireplace. Once it reached around 9pm and we almost had an accidental fortress of books around us we decided we were done for the night. "How do you feel about tomorrow?" I asked her.
"Nervous. We've studied as much as we can it should be okay." She said looking at the mess of paper and books around us. Bear crawled onto my shoulder like a parrot, he was growing a bit too big to do that now but I let him anyway.
"Good evening ladies." Sirius grinned, walking into the common room. He looked even more cocky than usual.
"Alright pads? You seem to be in a good mood." Marlene chuckled.
"You will be too when I show you what I've got for you." He sat down next to us.
"And what would that be." I asked, with Sirius you never knew what he had up his sleeve. He was a very unpredictable person.
He pulled out two bottles of Felix Felicis. It was a notoriously hard potion to brew yet he had multiple bottles. "For tomorrow." He grinned handing them to each of us.
"Where did you get these?" I smiled excitedly, there was no way I was failing tomorrow.
"You can thank my little brother. He commanded Snivellus to brew up some because he's the only person who can apparently, probably paid him well to do it. He saw me in the corridors and gave me enough for us, the rest of the boys and gingersnap and Mary. If he carries on with it we're set!" He leaned back and crossed his arms proudly, sat on the floor with the both of us by the coffee table.
"That's brilliant!" I smiled. "Reg is a genius." I figured this was Reg trying to get on good terms with my friends and my brother.
"Won't we get in big trouble if someone finds out?" Marlene frowned but put the bottle in the pocket of her robe anyway.
"Yeah so don't let any teachers find out." Sirius shrugged. "Drink them in your dorm before you go to the exam, don't be spotted necking potions in the corridors."
With a new found confidence for our exams, we all decided it was time to go to sleep and get rested after staying up and chatting for a bit.
The next morning, us girls all sat in a circle on the floor of our dorm. We were dressed and ready and we had to be in the exam Hall in 10 minutes.
"Well I think it's time." I grinned excitedly."To not failing our exams!" Lily smiled, taking the cork out of her little glass bottle.
"Cheers!"
We all downed the potion in unison. "How does everyone feel?" I asked looking around. I was starting to feel indestructible. I felt so confident in myself that any challenge seemed easy.
"Fucking fantastic." Marlene laughed.
"We're going to ace these exams. Come on ladies off we go!" Mary smiled excitedly and we all stood up.
