Y/n Potter

It must have been around three in the morning and I had to go downstairs to get a cold glass of water. Something felt weird that whole day, like there was something wrong but I wasn't too sure what. It was just a heavy feeling of foreboding in my gut that wasn't explainable.

I had an oversized t shirt on that I was sleeping in, I got myself a glass of water and was about to head off upstairs when I heard urgent knocking at the door. Who on earth would be calling at this hour?

I grabbed my wand just incase and slowly opened the door. Sirius stood on my doorstep shivering. he looked as though he hadn't eaten well in a long time and like he hadn't seen daylight in a while either. I threw the door open and put my arm around him to stable him before he collapsed and I didn't even want to think about what they did to him. "Oh Sirius!" I gasped. "Come on let's get you inside."

He half sat-half fell onto one of the sofas in the living room after I helped him inside. "Y/n... I ran away, they were going to kill me." He mumbled as I gently put a soft blanket around his shoulders and handed him a hot cup of tea, he gave me a small grateful smile.

"Shh, don't try explain right now. I told you you could come here didn't I? You live here now." I said softly. "I'm never letting you go back there. Now you stay here, I'm getting my Mum she'll know what to do."

"You don't have to wake her-" His voice was weak, as if every word he spoke was pulling a muscle.

"I'll hear none of that, it's no fuss just stay there we'll have you looked after." I told him and then ran upstairs. I crept into my parents room and gently shook my mum "Mum." I whispered "It's Sirius."

That was all my mother needed to hear to be wide awake, she pulled on her dressing gown and by the time we hurried downstairs, he was unconscious again and my Mum had him carried up to his room. "Mum... I think they tortured him." I whispered. I remembered how terrible it was and I would never want that some to Sirius. I wasn't the same because of it, I was scared of going down dark corridors alone, most of the time my dreams were haunted with the pain.

"I'll help him it's okay, go to bed." She smiled softly, she was trying not to get me to worry but I could see in her eyes it wasn't good.

"What if I can help." I suggested, I wanted to be a healer when I left Hogwarts anyway.

"It's best that you get your rest, I have a feeling tomorrow will be a busy day for us all." She smiled and hugged me. "Is the front door bolted shut?"

I hugged her back. "It is. Goodnight mum." I went back to bed but I couldn't sleep. I just tossed and turned letting my mind wander. Was Reg safe? What had happened this time? What if Reg had joined them, Sirius said they would be preparing him around this time. It was clear I wanted sleep but sleep didn't want me so I sat up and wrote an owl.

Sirius is safe, I hope you are too.

All my love x

It was addressed to Reg on the envelope and I didn't sign my name incase his mother saw it but he would know it was me. There were a lot of things I would give to see Reg, just to know he was safe, I attached the letter to my owls leg and sent her flying off into the night. I leaned on the window and watched her go, looking out into the cold and lonely stars.

The next morning I woke up at around 9, after getting broken up sleep. Immediately, I went into Sirius's room to check on him. He layed there, stiff like a body, his breathing gentle and shallow. The very sight of him like this broke my heart so I shut the door quietly and walked downstairs. Remus and James were sat at the breakfast table as my Father told them what happened, apparently my mum was having a nap.

"Y/n, is he okay?" James asked as soon as he saw me.

"Mum says he will be. I think he was tortured, but far worse than Snape did to me. It's like they were trying to kill him." I frowned and poured myself some cereal.

"You did the right thing waking your mother." My dad said to me as I sat down in between the boys.

"You won't let him go back there will you Dad?" My parents were most likely to let him stay here but I needed an answer.

"He practically lives here anyway there's so reason why not." My dad looked up from his copy of the daily prophet with a smile.

We all felt a little better knowing this, I was also excited to have Sirius living with us like he was my adopted brother. Sirius was safe now, he would never have to put up with them again and I hoped that Reg could do the same one day.

We walked up stairs a couple of hours later, making sure we were very quiet so as not to wake sleeping Sirius. His door was open and so were the windows in his room so he could get some fresh air in this summer heat.
"You don't need to creep around." Came a weak but teasing voice from inside the room. "I'm awake and you look like three idiots. Come in."

I couldn't help but smile, he was always going to be so... Sirius. We made our way into his room and sat on his bed. The beds in my house were so big two people could stretch into a starfish and still have room to be comfy.

Sirius had dark circles under his eyes, he was so pale his skin was nearly see through in the low light. "Sirius... What happened?" James asked him.

"They wanted me to kill a muggle born girl. I refused. Old Orion didn't like that much and here I am, looking fit." He was trying to joke about it because that's what he did with all his trauma but it was hurting anyone could see it.

"Do you feel any better than last night?" I asked him, Remus had been rather quiet through out all this, looking down and playing with his hands.

"Definitely, your Mum's amazing. I don't know when I'll be playing Quidditch again though tough luck James." He grinned despite the pain he was in.

"Our Mum." I corrected him with a smile. "That includes you Moony."

Remus smiled a little. "I'm glad you're here now Padfoot."

"Me too." Sirius nodded and there seemed to be a deeper understanding between them.

"Look at us, the marauders back together!" James announced "I'll get Pete to come over tomorrow and you can come to the concert! It really didn't turn out too badly did it." He smiled, of course James was the one keeping everyone positive. I really loved that about my brother.

"Yeah, I'm not locked in my room any more. Felt like being in Azkaban. Only a matter of time until I got arrested for being illegally gorgeous." He joked but he were all more worried that he was locked in his room for two weeks that we were in a stunned silence. "Guys it's okay you can laugh!"

"Sirius... Is Reg alright? He didn't have to kill that girl did he?" I asked quietly. Surely he wouldn't kill someone. That wasn't him. He wasn't bad.

"He didn't no, I think the snake had her but I was sort of unconscious so I don't know. He's still there they're probably trying to initiate him into their cult. I'm sorry but I had to leave him." He was genuinely apologetic and I shook my head.

"It's alright I'll see him at school. You had to get out of there and you did." I was growing extremely worried about him, maybe they had given him the mark already. The future was coming so quickly and I suddenly felt very hot and bothered.

"He was wearing your necklace, thought you'd want to know." Sirius said as he tried to sit up very slowly so he didn't get dizzy. Remus passed him a glass of water off his bedside desk so he didn't have to reach for it.

He was wearing my necklace. I couldn't help but smile a little and my left hand instinctively went to touch the ring that was on my right hand. I missed him more and more every day.
