The crisp chill of early Autumn swept through the countryside as the leaves turned golden, orange and brown before beginning their dance onto the floor. This was the first Autumn in as long as I could remember that didn't bring a trip with my parents to diagonal alley with it. I didn't miss trying on new school shoes or trying to navigate through the crowd of new First Years to find the books I needed however already, I would pay good money for just one more night spent laughing in the common room as rain beat the windowpanes.

Marlene was apparently feeling the same way, one morning I received a letter from her reading...

Y/n, get your ass up to Scotland and we'll have a sleepover. Edinburgh is stunning this time of year. I've invited Mary and Lils too but Lily says she'll be preoccupied with Pertunia's birthday. How fun!
Me and Mary haven't spoken much, the odd owl here and there. I don't even know what we are anymore, nothing I'm not used to with her, mind you. Her responses to my letters have been so short and blunt I wonder why I still bother. Love is a loosing game it seems.
Anyway, be here this Saturday please please please I miss you!
- Your loving wife, Marls.

I smiled reading it and stuffed the letter in my draw. Girls sleepover, I could not wait. It was my day off from work. In truth, I hated it. It wasn't the healing that was the issue, it was seeing the conditions that the ministry held werewolves in. They were all trapped in cages for their transition with aurors on stand by incase anyone got out. All these poor people cried in pain, clawing themselves when they transitioned. It was sickening to witness. But that was why I was doing it. One day, I would buy hundreds of acres of land, a werewolf reservation if you will. So that when the transition happened, they could run free without the risk of hurting anyone or themselves.

I walked downstairs to go and find my brother and to my surprise, I saw Reg sat in the living room. He was casually talking with my dad about the latest book my dad was reading. James and I weren't huge readers so my dad probably enjoyed someone to share his interest. "Regulus Black what the bloody hell are you doing here?" I frowned and crossed my arms, trying to hide the smile tugging at my lips. "Shouldn't you be at Hogwarts?"

Reg grinned when he saw me, his hair has gotten so long it was beginning to fall into his eyes. He wasn't even in uniform, just a plain black shirt and trousers. "Todays class is about apparition, and as you can tell I'm already rather proficient in that aspect." He smirked. "Good to see you too."

"What if your mother finds out?" I asked, voice filled with concern.

"Who will tell her? Dumbledore?" He chuckled and shook his head. I sighed rushed over to him, hugging him tightly. Perhaps the end of summer meant more freedom for him, still, there was always a nagging worry in the back of my head. Every time we saw each other it was dangerous, it always had been but now more than ever.

"Education is important Regulus." My father chided him and pushed his glasses up his nose, similar to James, however there was a sparkle in his eye. "We're having a roast for dinner, I hope that's alright."

"That's my favourite." Reg smiled and I took his hand, pulling him upstairs to my room. "What's the hurry." He laughed as he quickened his pace to keep up with me.

"Come here." I sighed breathlessly and pulled him into a kiss. He smirked against my lips and pushed me up against my bedroom wall. My hands hurriedly found their way to the buttons on his shirt, quickly undoing them one by one and then I pulled it off his shoulders, discarding it on the bedroom floor.

"Missed me?" He teased, a smirk on his lips as he kissed down my neck.

I ran my fingers through his hair as he picked me up and grabbed my ass. "More than you can imagine." I smiled and kissed him again. He pulled my shirt off and the rest of my clothes until I was only in my underwear and he sat on the bed with me on his lap.
