The fireplace was rustling softly, spreading a comforting warmth over the Gryffindor Common Room. James was laying on the couch, holding his girlfriend tight and quietly telling Lily about his day, while she played with his hair. Peter was cuddled up on the armchair, holding a pillow against his chest and dreamingly staring into the dancing flames. Even Marlene and Dorcas were there, sharing another armchair, Marlene in Dorcas' lap with her partners arms around her. Dorcas had their eyes closed, just focused on the wonderful feeling of having their friends with them again.

Sirius sat on the floor and played with the carpet, combing his fingers through the fabric, his thoughts full of plans for the time in Hogwarts, ideas for Pranks, topics he wanted to discuss with McGonagall. It was the first evening at Hogwarts after the pupils had come back from their holidays and everyone was more than excited to see each other again. Sirius' eyes snapped to Remus, who walked into the room, his hair still damp from the shower he had taken a few minutes ago, and the two of them shared a quick, but meaningful glance and Sirius immediately stood up.

"Moony and I are going to bed", he said. It was only half true and the others knew that. Sirius' grin showed more than enough.

"You nasty fuckers", James laughed. "Have fun. Don't break the bed."

"This time we won't", grinned Remus and pulled out his arm for Sirius to take. They ran up the stairs, nearly tumbling over their own feet because they couldn't stop laughing as their friends yelled after them to be quiet, to use protection, to put up Silencing Charms. Peter even made gagging noises, Dorcas called them lucky, since they themselves had their period at the moment and Marlene just wished them a pleasant baby making.

Sirius quickly shut the door behind them and locked it and when they turned around again, Remus was smiling at him.

"What?", Sirius asked in amusement.

"Can't I just smile while looking at you?", Remus teased and walked a few steps forward so he could move Sirius against the closed door. He tugged a loose strand of hair behind Sirius' ear and pressed a kiss just below their earlobe. "I missed you."

"Three weeks", murmured Sirius. "Three fucking weeks."

"Too long."

"Too long", they agreed and crossed his arms behind Remus' neck, caging him in as if to stop Remus from escaping. "We should make up for it, don't you think?"

"Sounds good", Remus tilted his head to the side and started kissing Sirius' neck, faintly grazing the soft skin with his lips, for the moment not allowing himself to give in to his desires to bite and lick and suck. Sirius closed his eyes and breathed out happily, gently stroking Remus' back. They had time, they weren't in a broom closet or hiding behind the door of an unused classroom where anybody could catch them, they had time, they could take it slow, press kisses on the places they missed of each other, take turns with undressing, exploring each others bodies as if for the first time.

Remus gentry manoeuvred them towards his bed until the back of Sirius' knees hit the edge and pushed Sirius down. Sirius grinned, excited and ready and leaned back on his elbows to watch as Remus opened his belt and stepped out of his jeans.

"You have new underwear", Sirius noticed. Remus looked down and rolled his eyes while climbing up the bed to kneel over Sirius' torso.

"Well, one day my mom was doing laundry and thought it was time", he explained and gently took Sirius' chin in his hand to make him look up. Sirius' eyes flickered to Remus' crotch. They licked their lips.
