I meant it
But I didn't
But I did
But I didn'tR A K S H I T
This morning was one of the most peaceful mornings, that morning when I knew she would never be going away. For me, it was the start of our new life but she seemed disturbed since night by something unknown.
Her choice of words nowadays had much greater influence on my mood as she was one of the most understanding people of the world. At least for the time being.
The future had always been something so unpredictable but I was pretty sure the end would be satisfying and worth all the trouble.
Natasha and Divya had gone to the general store for buying some cereal and some groceries and Romi and Vicky, well nothing much of them. It was 2 in the afternoon but when I tried to wake them up, I was thrown out of the room without a dram of compassion.
The reason why everyone was still sleeping was a hectic two days if you haven't had a short term memory loss. The girls, except Drishti, I mean she was a girl indeed, but an exception to the, ok nevermind.
The girls, Ok, Divya and Natasha however were awake since 11 and started getting ready. It just took them 30 minutes in total to freshen up and come for breakfast. The cereal of their choice was not available, moreover we were out of groceries due to which they left for shopping at 12. Now, they being highly pickey about their diet only and not their boyfriends, couldn't find the cereal anywhere close. A few minutes back I called them to ask their whereabouts and came to know that they went 10 kilometers,
On foot
Why? Because to them, food was so important, more than any girly item men would think.
Well, I would rather spend a 50 dollars on the food getting delivered to my doorstep than going out to get the same food for a 25 dollars.
I laughed at my own joke and started preparing my oats meal for the brunch. Diet conscious, yes I was. Thirty three percent of the time.
Two arms wrapped around my waist from behind and a head was placed on my shoulder. "Good morning" I ignored the horse like voice and smiled for the person. "Good morning" As I stirred the oats with a knife, cuz I couldn't find anything else, I grabbed her hands and brought them closer to my lips "Someone's in a good mood today" I kissed her hands and,
Since when did she have hairs on her fingers?
"Drishti, these-" I turned around and found Vicky, who just blushed hard, clinging to me.
"Oh ho! Why did you stop? I was loving it" he winked at me and hid his face dramatically.
"What the-" With my expectations wholy drowned seeing Vicky's face, I pushed him away in shock and rubbed my shoulder "Omg! Not you" Just then I remember I kissed those freakin hairy fingers
Hairy fingers
I kissed
With my lips
"Yulk!" After faking two to three vomits at the thought of the contact of his hairs with my lips, I showed him the knife. "Get out before I kill you right here"
"Rakshit, I? It's me, your bestie. Your Vicky"
"I said Get out!" I moved the knife in air, close enough to his face to threaten him. That rascal finally left the kitchen out of agony when I called him a hairy bear.
"Sike! What did he want? What if his hairs went inside my mouth? No no! Never! Oh god, I need a mouthwash. I'm tired of his childishness. Actually everyone's childishness and carelessness. Romi, Vicky and Divya. Natasha is an angry bird but now she's okay. Drishti, ah don't even mention her! That girl's always dancing on my head!"
"Why did I do?" It seemed like I just had a Deja vu when the situation repeated itself. Two hands again circled around my waist and a face again fevicoled itself to my shoulder.
This time no!
I'm not letting him get me more than once. You think you're smart? No you are not.
"Good morning" Horse like voice was changed into a low yawning voice.
Smart move son!
But not worth it.
My chest heaved up and down in frustration as the face was coming closer to my cheeks. With this, my patience drowned in the perfect way as possible and I held the up in the air and faked an attack as turned back holding his neck, or what I supposed to be his neck. "I'm going to kill Yo- aaaa!!"
The knife dropped from my hand as I watched Drishti standing in a defense position and eyeing me horrifically. "Youuuuu?"
"What do you mean by Youuuuu?" Ok, I dramatized the you by stretching the u. Even if the you sounded like u but-
Focus Rakshit, focus.
You were about to be a widower just a few seconds ago. Going to a jail trip was a talk of another self supporting session but right now, I had to act like I was all cool.
"Nothing" curling my lips in an innocently confused manner, I played with my feet at the spot.
Was there any end to curiosity?
Not at all
"What did you listen by the way?" I stammered with full confidence.
"That I dance on your head" she crossed her arms arcoss her chest and raised her brow at me suspiciously "So that's what you feel?" Oh, I meant it but why would I say a yes.
"In a good way, I meant that I've been dreaming a lot about you lately and seeing you everywhere" I nodded my head so that someone would be agreeing to my statement.
Even if it was just me.
"Really?" Her arms dropped and a pleasant smile stretched across her lips.
"Um, yeah" I confessed and shurgged my shoulders.
She pulled my hoodie closer to her face and tucked in her mouth as if trying to hide her smile. "You're forgiven" she smiled from behind the hoodie and stepped forward to embrace me.
Well, it was not bad afterall.
