✧THE NIGHT AND MORNING OF✧
◊━━━━━✥━━━━━◊

Following the night celebration, Rhea had managed to keep herself awake long enough to enjoy a bath to soak away the stress. She wasn't the host tomorrow, the only thing a bride needed to concern herself over was keeping her appearance looking perfect at all times, as well as making it to the alter.
Yet her mind had plagued her, thinking of possibilities for ways tomorrow could be ruined. It had started with Walburga coming to rip her dress to shreds in her pettiness in not accepting the union.
Another version had been Antonio objecting to the wedding and claiming various accusations, along the lines of being unsure and pregnant with his child—Her mind had been her greatest tormentor, especially when she caught the pure look of disgust from Alphard.
She had seen him angry, peeved, and perhaps discouraged—But the creation of disgust truly set her back.
She laid awake in her nightgown with a mound of scenarios coming and go, and already she had a bit of a cry and a cautious sip of fire whiskey.
It only offered her a strikingly warm tum and another reason to cry as she was nearly finished with the bottle.
What she hadn't been prepared for, however, was the small tap on the window. Causing her to lean forward and try to get a better sight of the owl. And it wasn't until she realized it was Benny a breath escaped her.
Clearly, her nightmares so far had caused her unsureness for even the slights of actions.
"Hello love, what is that mad man doing—Sending you out at this time of night?" Rhea questioned, hurriedly pulling him in and setting the adorable creature onto the space under the window.
He fluffed his feathers and offering up the parchment he held in his beak, the moon's light hadn't allowed her to see much more than his yellow eyes.
"Thank you lovely." She whispered and rewarded him with a kiss and a few scratches before tearing the wax seal of the Black family.
Little Goddess,
I couldn't help but think of you, it's keeping me up this night. As if tomorrow isn't one of the most important days of our lives.
Come to the door, I have a surprise.
-Atlas.
Rhea's eyes widened as she caught the ending, the damnable bloke was there at her door for how long?!
"Alfie?" She called out in a whisper, her mother and Cissy were staying the night to give Rhea company in the morning. As apparently it takes a process to get ready, hours and hours from the sound of it.
"Little Goddess?" He whispered back with a slight hint of amusement. But Rhea knew better, he wouldn't be here without a reason.
"...Are you alone?" Alphard continued after a moment of silence between them. "Y-yeah. But I'm not sure how much bad luck it'd be to see you before tomorrow..." She offered, and his laughter was light and it urged Rhea closer to the door.
"Can you move from the door?" Her question caused him to instantly follow suit, allowing her to pull it forward just a smidge and hold out her hand. Offering a small bit of comfort, and the desperation in his quick response had caused her to sigh.
"You have cold feet? Is that what you're telling me?" She mumbled with a twinge in her lip, and with knowing her for as long as he had—He knew that he had to say his piece before he'd hurt her further.
