✧THE STRIVES TOWARDS SUCCESS✧

Rhea had felt drastically...Disappointed.

She thought that Alphard would give her some sort of sign of approval, and instead, he was silent all throughout lunch and even now as they walked through the manor.

Had she overstepped?
"I'm sorry." Now that surely broke him out of his trans.
"Pardon?" Which caused Rhea to bite her lip in damnation.
"I was supposed to shadow and listen, wasn't I?" Alphard had remained silent and so she nodded, handing up her entire set of documents—Perhaps he had only said what he did in the moment of it all?

She really doubted he meant to give her a whole project.

"What on earth are you talking about?" She put her offered hand down and frowned. What was he talking about?

"Aren't you angry?"

"Angry—Merlin, no. I'm not angry, I knew you would bring your own ideas to the table. And Orion's been badgering me to take a stab at a project or two, or at least oversee one of his or take my own...I'm just shocked is all, I didn't mean to be so quiet. I just have a lot to process right now. We hadn't talked over you actually taking over a client or anything in the sort."

"Oh but that's no trouble! It gives me plenty to do for the rest of the summer! And if it does well then it's funded the library and greenhouse, right?" His eyes searched between the two orbs of his wife's gaze, wondering where on earth she thought she had to earn money.

"It's just—I didn't expect you to be so open-minded about it all. Orion thought Walburga would dive into it as well."

"I'm more offended that you compared me to Walburga then. Alphard, when have I ever given you the impression that I wouldn't want to try this?...I've been sitting on my arse doing nothing, those blokes at the table were right. I've been at home."

"Don't put yourself down, you're more than that." He cupped her cheek and attempt to destroy any other lingering thoughts that might sprout any more negativity. "I want you to work on a project—You turned his mistake into a goldmine. I never would have thought collectible pins would be so chic." Alphard hadn't meant for his words to sound humorous, but he didn't care at this point—As long as she was smiling and giggling again.

"You've come with so many brilliant ideas, and I know you'll work hard. That young man you're mentoring has come in so many times and not one of my men have offered their aid to tweak his ideas into something more honest of value." It was then that she bounced up in excitement, brushing off his once sour mood and kissing him.

"I'm so excited!" And thus, that fixed one issue—Now it was on to the next.

After consulting with Orion, the bloke seemingly laughed at him. But he didn't take lightly to his brother's taunting when Rhea had been so quiet and careful about hurting his feelings and attempting to 'being with the times.'

"I don't see what is so funny, Orion." He said, curtly sipping on his drink. Frowning as it didn't burn the way he wished it did.

"Since when did you decide all this? Before or after you placed Rhea on a year-long project?"

"It will hardly be a year, you've managed to take up a few."

"Yes. But I wanted to get away from my wife while my sons are off in Hogwarts. Between her going to return and manufacturing this list of products, you'll never see her." That was true, but perhaps he could step in and help her?
