A week had passed, and while Alphard understood that Rhea was struggling to keep up with her double lectures as well as make time for shadowing at the hospital—It was becoming a worry of his that she was avoiding him.
And there was also the implemented doubt that Orion was putting into his mind when he discussed all the joys that he spent with Corin. While it was a blessing for him to hear of his brother's activities with the kind witch, it also reminded him that he hasn't been intimate since before they left for America.
With their schedules not aligning and the ways of it all, Alphard had nearly missed the date had Orion not pressed him for when classes would be finished—As his usual response was 'not soon enough.'
At least when Rhea would be working, she wouldn't be devoting hours upon hours to studying further for exams. It would be for leisure.
"I'm only asking because Cory says that there usually is a graduation ceremony and celebration. I was thinking it would be grand to surprise those poor in-debt beings to a night of luxury." It caused him to pause and look at the calendar, and goodness, it only left a month and a half to plan something!
"Lori is going to bloody kill me one of these days, I swear." Orion laughed, repeating the words that Corin had given him. And it was all Alphard needed to get an owl sent off to Lori, as he was going to be throwing the best damn party he could.
Even if he couldn't whisk Rhea away on vacation as he would have liked, the shadowing and interning methods would be much more easily managed. Thus, he decided to get the better chunk of his work done this month, and not when Rhea was off for the shortest time.
No. He couldn't possibly work while she was home on her lonesome, he was going to take this time to the fullest and he was already planning it to the brim.
With the finer details decided and ordered, all that was left was the date to finally come—But Alphard couldn't out it until finals were submitted.
As what was the point of a graduation party when the students still had to think about academics?
No, even now, he could hear Rhea speaking out into the open of her study as she repeated phrases, incantations, motions, and then some. Not only was this a practical, but it also tested all that she learned in her shadowing.
How to greet a patient, and introduce which type of dozens of scenarios that could possibly happen within the patient's room. The way that Rhea explained it was rather terrifying, damning the student to be prepared for the worst.
Alphard had knocked dutifully on her door and peeked his head in, feeling the reversal of the situation with ease. "Dinner is in half an hour, just a warning."
"I can't stomach anything tonight Alfie, I have to get through—"
"Ah, we've been through this. You're going to get nauseous if you don't eat anything tonight or tomorrow. So at least put something in there prior to it all." Rhea could only blink at her husband's logic and frowned.
"Alphard, I don't have the energy to argue. I'm not hungry."
"If you want an argument, I will gladly give you a dozen and some reasons why you should eat."
