✧THE DOVE AND THE HUNTER✧

Corin Simmons was an exceptionally powerful witch, but a shortcoming to her parent's ultimate demise—Not only was she wracking slowly in debt, but her magic had been on the fritz since then.
And only now, when her life was starting to show a bit of stability and her own self-worth was improving, did she finally get the better of the situation.
Her parents were old fashion, and it had been a battle and a half to beg them for the funds to be able to continue her education, let alone have them help financially. She knew quite well that in the end, she would return the funds, or help them when they were unable to help themselves.
But all those promises were for not, though that didn't mean she didn't keep them in good faith.
Corin's mother's necklace was strictly around her neck, and oftentimes it offended Orion when he tried to gift her flashy jewelry—Or did, until he understood the sentiment.
The flat that she was currently living in, courtesy of the Black family fortune, was her pride and joy. She kept it spotless and readily filled with food—As her Hufflepuff blood fully intended to be the nurturing type. But as of late, Orion would come over somewhat unannounced to spend a bit of time with her. More so now with the lads back in Hogwarts.
It was rather odd that she managed to befriend them both, and Regulus had already gone to owling her a kindly—Considering she had sent him and his brother cookies.
Granted, Sirius had been at the end of the signature. But she couldn't complain. No, she was in an odd position...
Dating Orion Black.
It had only taken a few dates before Orion had started to feel comfortable to open up more, and goodness, did the man have the ability to control the room.
Corin was undoubtedly infatuated with him, and damnit—She promised herself she wouldn't be!
While Rhea admitted that she hoped that this would turn into more than a business transaction, Corin had to remember a few important things:
Orion is an important man in the wizarding world.
Orion is married.
Walburga Black was horrifying.
Not to mention that they paid the bills, even if she did want to leave—Under the terms they agreed to. Corin didn't know how to process a life without these three.
She had invited Alphard and Rhea to join her and Orion a few times as well, and it had been wonderful.
And Rhea had extended the invitation a few times for her to visit the manor, though she was given the go-ahead to drop by at any time.
It was strange how well adapted Corin had already felt with joining their lives, and it helped that she remembered Rhea from their time in Hogwarts together.
But a part of her, a very small part of her, wondered if Rhea wanted friends—And that was more of the reason as to why she had gone ahead and found Orion a mistress.
Yes, Corin didn't bloody care what the title was, in a record of looking back into history. Many high-titled people in kingdoms had mistresses, and they were (mostly) very well respected.
And honestly, Corin didn't give a damn anymore. Soon, her past with Eve's Garden would be just that. In the past.
Even then, she hadn't done anything incriminating just yet—The farthest she and Orion had gone was a bit of fair touching and snogging. She hardly managed to take any piece of clothing off the bloke before he sunk back into a fit of worries.
