✧A STRESSFUL JOURNEY✧

The Elf had taken his sweet time in approaching his master, but upon seeing the scene before him, he rushed into action as Orion did not hesitate to send an owl to Maverick.
Who else could he call?
He needed to control the situation before informing Alphard, as the man would not function in this state. Not when he couldn't stomach the site of this.
Corin, who was still having difficulty in breathing had come forward, trying her best with shaking hands to keep Rhea from moving too much. Her erratic spasms were doing more harm than good, and instead, she did her best to try and stop the bleeding. But there was a reason that Splintches were still a well-feared injury.
And thank goodness it hadn't happened to the rest of them.
It felt like an utter eternity until Maverick had walked through the fire place, and another life sentence for him to heal Rhea. The Healer knew that being called by Orion would be upsetting news, much like the last time.
But never did he expect to see Rhea in such a state, Orion pacing until the carpet turned cloudy—Or Corin, still pale and unresponsive mind.
"How did this even happen?" Maverick asked, both witches off and away in a guest bedroom while Orion had a steady glass ready for the Healer back in the main den.
"Was out with Rhea getting some ice cream of all things. Corin came in with her study group, things went to shite not long after...Merlin, I have to tell Alphard."
"When is he set to come back?"
"Last I heard, he might need another week at the minimum. I need to prepare for a few things here to take his place. But he needs to be with Rhea, the lads can stay with them." Maverick nodded, supporting his—Well, his friend.
After the times he's spoken with Orion, there had been a well-developed friendship in the mist. And it was no doubt that Black respected the Healer.
"How's Corin?"
"She's stable, she didn't get nicked—Just in shock. She'll come to in the morning or so. You three managed to leave at the skin of your teeth, how the bloody hell did you manage that?"
"Rhea is a wonderful dueler, as I'm starting to see." Maverick allowed his shoulders to bounce as he silently laughed to himself. "The amount of energy and concentration it takes to perform spells on patients. That duel was most likely easier." It was then that he found a new respect for the profession his sister decided to follow through with.
If it hadn't impressed him prior.
"I have another guest room if you're interested, Maverick."
"Rhea will need to be checked throughout the night...I—I realize I might be speaking out of place when I say this, but are you opposed to sending her to the hospital if she needs it?" The issue here, being, that Orion was not the one who should be making these decisions.
He was not her husband.
So he channeled Alphard right then and there.
"If it becomes a risk, you do what you have to do. I rather have Rhea living and outrage from the family, than her dead and my brother widowed." The decision was clear, but he soon followed up with the prospect of if it looked like that, yet it all depends on Rhea now.
