✧A NEW SISTER✧

◊━━━━━✥━━━━━◊

***

Rhea was partially surprised to feel Alphard still hugging her as tightly as he had last night. And while she was still peeved their evening had been cut short, it wasn't his fault.

"You're awake..." Alphard whispered and she hummed along, not prepared to actually face the day. "Please forgive me." His breath was hot on her neck and she hummed. "Forgive me."

"Rather bossy, but there's nothing to forgive...Though next time, please don't leave me to the wrenches." Alphard had placed a polite kiss to the base of her neck. This continued repetitively as Rhea had wrapped her hand into the better part of his locks.

"I adore when you're hair is down and free." She whispered up towards him, as it acted as a shield to inclose their company further. "The moment you made a comment about my hair in our letters to one another, I knew I'd have to—"

"Knock, knock...Alphard! I'm coming in!" Rhea watched as both anger and embarrassment flashed across her husband's face as he leaned onto his knees to look at the door. Only for the very woman from last night to peek her head in, shockingly enough, she had come in further.

"You didn't tell me the two of you still share a bed, Alfie." She said with a clap of her hands followed by another laugh. "Lucretia, this is highly inappropriate!"

"So is morning sex, cheeky you are...I want to meet my sister—I'll be downstairs with breakfast when the both of you decide to grace me with your presence. Rhea darling, keep doing what you're doing! You've managed to capture the heart of the longest bachelor in the country, you must be doing something right!" With that, Lucretia had left with the sound of faint laughter trickling in from the hallway.

Rhea had looked mortified and still looked directly at the door. "I'll get rid of her, I told her to wait and owl when we were both more decent and when I knew you felt better." Rhea had let out a stressful breath as she hardly wanted to think about what hellfire will be thrown her way when she goes downstairs.

"You were supposed to marry her..."

"Out of convenience, nothing more. I never shared a bed with her." It was relieving, to say the least, but it still didn't settle the pang in her chest. "...But I know your reservations, believe me...I cannot handle my jealousy when I recall how that bastard would flaunt you around at parties." She pouted and pulled him down to meet for an embrace.

"She doesn't hate me?"

"Why would she?... You hardly met her."

"Others usually made an image of me in their mind already...And why didn't she come to the wedding?"
"Ah, yes...Walburga and her don't get along. We were supposed to go and visit her during our honeymoon, but she said something along the lines of being too close to a newlywed couple on their honeymoon is the last thing she wants." Rhea thought that was fair, however, now she had to face a new family member.

The two had hurried along to get dressed to join the elusive family member, but being so much closer—Rhea could see the defining details that she shared with Orion.

"Don't tell me you two finished already, old man," Alphard grumbled under his breath while Rhea blushed entirely. "No, we were rudely interrupted by an unannounced visitor."

"Better me than Walburga."

"My sister knows better." Lucretia waved her hand before turning towards Rhea. "Now how did my brother manage to tempt you to be his wife?... You're far too beautiful for this bastard." Rhea's lips parted with both confusion and harsh thoughts rallying back and forth in her mind.
