✧PAINTING A DISCUSSION✧

◊━━━━━✥━━━━━◊

***

Within the next few weeks, Rhea had started to go into the full swing of things. In addition of pairing her classes, she also decided to start shadowing a Healer at the hospital.

Alphard couldn't be happier that it was none other than Maverick himself.

However, what the faithful husband was not prepared for, was the start of more lonely days.

He knew it was going to happen eventually, and he tried to push the fact that he was spoiled with Rhea being home more than the average working wife—Or even the fact that they worked together.

But even when she was home, she was busy—Or he was busy.

So they compromised where they could, that dinner was for the both of them—And that they would try to head to bed together when possible. But as of lately, Alphard was starting to help Rhea study, and Merlin have him, he was thankful that he didn't have to take these exams.

It had only made her more attractive in his eyes, not to mention that she was thoroughly enjoying herself.

Every day she would come home with stories about her shadowing position, class, or even what they were learning now. Making things much more obvious that Rhea would do wonderful with taking care of the young witches and wizards in the clinic.

But upon further thinking, he had managed to catch a conversation with Corin. Wondering her opinion on a type of pet he should adopt, almost as a congratulations for Rhea for managing thus far.

And Corin could only laugh and point, 'isn't it your birthday soon?' She called out. Leaving Alphard to head to the pet shop in Diagon Alley in an attempt to find the perfect pet, but it was certainly going to be difficult.

Leaving him to turn the tide and reach out to his brother-in-law, hoping that Rolf would know what his sister was fancying—Or had, when they were younger.

It was clear that he had wasted the first few weeks in searching himself when Rodolphous was right here for the taking. The bloke seemed to have an answer for everything, exotic names for wonderful dog breeds or ones that didn't shed as much.

But it came to a rather difficult decision of whether or not to take Rodolphous' advice or Corin's.

Leaving the choice between a feline or a canine companion.

Which, undoubtedly left Alphard to ask Orion—Who was undoubtedly ecstatic to hear that his brother was making such a decision. And damnit, he was about to purchase them all a pet if it had gotten such smiles and cheers at the prospect of adding a creature to the family.

So he wanted to engage with his wife just a bit, ask her questions when she busy in hopes that she would get accidentally out something. He felt that a kitten would be the better of the two right now, not as attention-seeking as a canine—Which of course would be a disappointment to tell Rolf when the time came, but the bloke could get his own damn mutt if he so pleased.

Hoping that he caught her on the off chance, he peeked his head into her study and straighten at the sight of her desk empty—Only to find her closer to the window.

"Ah, I was beginning to think I didn't look long enough in the library for you." He laughed his entrance and Rhea hadn't stopped stroking her brush, only to dip another brush into the next set of colors.

"Taking a break before my mind turns to mush. Don't you have a meeting today?"

"Canceled. Can't say I'm too heartbroken about it considering I caught you painting this evening. I hoped you still did some on the side, can I see?"
