✧THE ROYALTIES OF BEING A BLACK HEIR✧

And Cygnus had closed the gap between them and pulled her close to his figure— "Getting to know you, Rhea." And his fowl lips had come far too close for comfort.

"What the—" Rhea hadn't enough time to curse as she thrashed her way out of Cygnus' hold. "—Are you sick in the head?!" She shrieked, hoping and praying that her husband could hear her from her study.

"Right as rain, I was just coming to return the favor."

"I want no part in that favor, surely you get that anywhere else." Rhea didn't put it past this bloke to have committed adultery against his own wife, whether he had a mistress on the side was beyond her. But Rhea had enough of this topic that she nearly lost her breath.

Alphard's aggression on the desk had nothing on this as she began to shake.

"I suppose he hasn't told you. Granted, I'm not surprised. When I first got married, after Orion and Walburga mind you. I offered up my wife as any kind brother would." It took a moment for her to see what he was getting at.

Is that what Orion was getting at?

"And I disrespectfully decline the offer," Rhea said thoroughly nearly gritted teeth.

"Ah, but that isn't how this works. Alphard has taken the opportunity with my wife—"

"Clearly, you and the rest of you lot have an issue with saying no, but it's a firm no—No as in not happening and as no as in never. I'm loyal to my husband and I've had it up to here with this family already!" Rhea said, surpassing the bloke and hurrying back to the dining room. Hoping to god that Alphard is still enjoying his lunch away from all this.

"Rhea!"

"Shove the offer up your arse, Cygnus. Your apology is invalid." She deemed, and that was loud enough for Alphard to catch as he turned his gaze. "Rhea, love—? What's—"

"Get your brother in order before I actually take up that offer of yours to move to Germany for good." This had him rise to his feet and prepare for his brother to hold back a decent argument, though he knows full well how Cygnus is with his words.

"Rhea, surely my brother didn't mean to offend or hurt—" The way that she had hid behind him and figure had him frown further. "Rhea?" His question had remained nearly unheard as Cygnus was huffing and puffing out of breath after picking up the pace.

"Merlin, this house is too big."

"It'd be wise to explain what it is that's happened here, Cygnus, before I lose all common sense and I forget you are my brother." Alphard deemed, and Rhea curled into his back further.

"Twenty-some-odd years ago, I offered my wife...I'm a simple man, brother, it's—"
"I never touched your wife! I laughed at your offer, even piss drunk as I was. How dare you!" Alphard couldn't imagine what it was or how Cygnus worded this.

"I didn't mean for young Rhea to feel guilty—"
"Guilty?! I can downright say she's traumatized! You don't know a damn thing of anything do you? Or are you just oblivious to the fact that the very same wizard you tried throwing your daughter at is the same that Rhea was about to marry?" Rhea had nearly forgotten about Andy nearly marrying Dolohov instead, though it went to her much more unlucky friend.
