✧THE CURSED CELLAR✧

Their night had been interrupted rather early, and Alphard knew that his elves wouldn't knock unless it was urgent. So he grabbed the robe nearby and hurried towards the door, hoping that the knocks hadn't woken up Rhea.

"Goodness, it's nearly morning Bet—" He was not prepared to see his nephew. And not just his smiling young nephew, but one that was stricken with sadness. Even tears.

"Fuck, Regulus, what is it? What happened?"
"M-mother's been sent to G-Germany...A-and she and f-father had some words—S-sirius was—" The poor lad had started to sob right before his uncle, and the poor elder wizard was unable to find the ability to comfort the young lad.

But thankful Rhea had gotten the idea, as she was now dressed in her own robe and past him by before bending down and offering her support. But it hadn't ended there.

Regulus had fallen to his knees and began to cry into his chest, almost desperate for comfort as she tried to soothe and cater to his silent demands.

Rhea wondered if Walburga ever held her boys when they were babes. And upon running her hands through Regulus' hair, she realized that by his confusion, it had answered her thought straight out.

"I think...We are going to go downstairs and sit beside the fire. Yes? I'm going to make some tea." She offered, kissing his forehead as Alphard helped both Regulus and Rhea to their feet.

As Rhea led the two wizards to the main den, she sent a quick spell towards the fireplace and settled Regulus down onto the couch and wrapped him in a blanket. "Would you like some tea or coco?" The choice had only been answered with a yes, and Rhea had looked off to her husband with a grim face.

And Alphard nodded.

He knew what the plan was. Rhea was the comfort, and Alphard was the voice of reason to hear the proper story. So he did his best, evading the question outright and asking how the day went about.

Clearly, his punishment to Walburga had caused a sort of punishment for everyone under the roof.

"So what you're saying, son, is that Walburga has been on a rampage all night and started casting curses?" The boy nodded, and Alphard had to stop himself from checking to see if Rhea was on her way back yet or not.

But this was devastating to hear.

"Is this the first time this has happened?" The small shake of his head had been caught with ease, but he only sunk deeper into the couch. "What other times has this happened?"

"After the wedding a-and the ball." Alphard had thought for a moment and frowned, yes, his sister was taking out her anger on Orion and her children.

Was that enough to entitle him to cease them?

"Alright, I've got a nice steaming cup of tea and a few biscuits. Remind me in the morning, Alphard. We need to get the kitchen renovated." The way that Rhea had not so subtly entered into the chat as she settled the tray between the two on the table beside them, yet returned back to the floor to sit. Her hands coming to hold his .

"Does anyone know you're here?" Regulus' scatterbrained mind had tried to digest her question, and he shook his head. "F-father was fighting with mother. A-and Sirius g-got into the middle of it. Dunno what happened, I-I tried to ignore it. Siri always says to i-ignore."

"How did you get here?"
"Father's study." Rhea nodded, turning to the tray for a moment and taking the cloth to be able to take care of Regulus' tear stricken face.
