✧A NEW FAMILY MEMEBER✧

When Alphard had returned back from the pet shop, after purchasing what he believed to be the perfect little feline. He caught his brother in his study chugging down the better part of his whiskey, and smiling up a drunken storm.
"Where's the lil kit-ten, then?"
"Merlin, have mercy on me. You're worse than Rhea being drunk. Does she know you're here?"
"Hm. She kicked me out of her study. I even offered to help her practice for her exam." Alphard began to shake his head and swipe his whiskey bottle from his hands.
"Let's get you home, Orion."
"Why? It's boring and depressing and my sons are away. I have no one."
"That isn't true, and if you weren't so much of a drunken coward, then you would be in bed with Corin. Surrounded by a witch's warmth, and nothing is a better feeling than that."
"I don't suppose your wife is still thinking about that triad, hmm?" Alphard sucked in a breath as he docked the whiskey bottle back onto his drink cart before taking hold of his brother's tie. "I'll forgive you this time, considering I am the one who mentioned it and you offered back then. But you best hold your tongue before you mention my wife in bed again, do I make myself clear?"
"Crystal. But I want more whiskey." Orion was denied the whiskey in Alphard's manor, but was given free range in his own. He hadn't felt this damned depressed and alone in weeks. Hell, one of the better times is when both Alphard and Rhea had lived with him when their manor wasn't Inhabilitble.
Even when Rhea was meeting her Atlas all that time ago, he found the company pleasurable.
However, his drunken footsteps had led him back to Corin's flat. The very one that he had completely ran from before he had the chance to knock.
"When did I become such a coward?" He whispered to himself, more so with pity than disgust. But there was nothing in the poor Black heir to want to return home.
And he would do his best to plot in order to get legally separated and divorce Walburga.
Then perhaps he could finally come to enjoy the life he now controls, as his brother is the only one more powerful than him. Perhaps Lucretia if she truly wanted to, but his sister was more thankful to be out of the family than anything.
It had taken all of two tries before Orion had managed to knock on the door properly, but considering he was one of the master's of the flat. His hand was recognized by the nob and he went forward. Shuffling into the entrance with a wide smile.
"Little dove?" He called out, but her usual bumble attitude was nowhere to be found. And it was then that he found a note beside the bundle of flowers he had purchased just yesterday.
My Hunter,
I'm sorry for not owling you, but this was very last minute. I'll be out studying with my classmates until late morning. I promise to make it up to you. Perhaps the devils cake again?
I would rather be spending the evening curled with you and a glass of wine, but duty calls. Take care of yourself tonight, and there's a few cookies in the tin if you're interested.
Your little Dove.
Orion hummed in recognition of her beautiful script, though it did take some effort to get through. And his eyes flickered towards the tin and sighed in relief.
