✧AN UNFORGIVING HOLIDAY PT.1✧

◊━━━━━✥━━━━━◊

Tired did not express just how exhausted Rhea Black had felt when dressing for the event. Granted, she adored that she managed to find the time to work on a custom piece with her husband.

And this time featuring rather winterish themes such as an ice blue tinted fabric with snowflakes and lace surrounding the hem. It was clear that she had put the most into her attire while others had gone with the obvious Holiday green colors.

"I always found it interesting that we could separate those from Slytherin to those that aren't just by this Holiday."

"What do you mean? Siri isn't wearing red."

"Ah, but he's not wearing green as the rest of his family is. Besides, the poor lad looks bored out of his mind. I highly doubt he took time into thinking about his wardrobe choices." Rhea had sighed, wondering how she could make matters better for her nephew. "Do you have your flask with you?" Alphard had managed not to take many of his wife's words by surprise when drinking, but damnit he had been prove wrong.

"I can get you anything from the bar, Rhea, you know that." She blinked up to her husband, allowing him to get the better part of her idea and he caved and reached into his inner coat pocket to hand it off towards her.

"It's fire whiskey, first class. Only give him a few sips. I don't want to hear it from Walburga that he's gotten drunk."

"Two sips it is. Thank you, love...Perhaps tonight we'll have some of that mulled wine the Elves prepared for us. Later" He hummed his confirmation but caught sight of just the witch he wanted to see.

And better yet, she was alone.

"Clarissa, are you enjoying yourself this evening? I'm afraid I couldn't get to you sooner." It surprised the woman, clearly, that her son-in-law had come forward. And she was much too draft to understand the reasoning.

Where Rhea had gotten her smarts from, it astounded him thus far. Perhaps it was her grandfather—Her father's side, the true Lawyer of the family.

"Of course. Rhea has done a fantastic job in creating these novelties. I've heard praises all around."

"Hm. I hope you aren't taking the credit for my wife's creative abilities."

"Pardon?"

"You heard what I said, Clarissa. So let's cut straight to the chase, yes? If I hear of another tea party incident you wrangled, I can promise you, I will cut off Rhea's connection with both you and Radolphous."

"You can't do that, I'm her—"

"And you didn't hide behind your husband while he did the same? Curious, how long did it take for you to forgive your mother for all the horrors she put you through?" Clarissa had gawked towards her friend, and a small hiss of a warning fell out of her mouth.

"'Be quiet'? Oh no, I know when to bite my tongue. And it surely isn't now. Whatever you've done, fix it, or I will have to separate the negative in the situation. Best to alert your husband of this as well. We aren't looking for issues on boxing day, are we, Clarissa?" The witch's wine glass had sloshed a bit from how much her hand was shaking in anger. But no matter, Alphard had said his peace and rewarded her with a winning grin.

"Enjoy the celebration, Clarissa. Tis the season." He finished before walking off to discuss a few things with Orion. Though upon further investigation, he caught the damned bastard eyeing Corin across the room.
