✧WHAT DOES THE DARK LORD WANT?✧

◊━━━━━✥━━━━━◊

***

All that stood between Rhea and Orion was their staggering breaths as he tried to understand what she had said just a moment ago. But Orion had fallen from bended knee and Rhea found it the perfect moment to crumble further into his embrace.

Her sobs, for what they were, were valid.
And all Orion could do was sit there and contemplate just how this would all end.

The time between now and Alphard's death would be critical, not only would Rhea of course get offers from blokes who would want access to the Black family fortune—But for the Dark Lord to ask so openly, so suddenly?

There must be more going on than just the former.

"Rhea, you need to tell me exactly what happened today." He commanded, but she quickly shook her head. It was reason for concern regardless.

"Rhea, if you don't tell me this instant, I will drag your arse kicking and screaming to Alphard—You don't want that, do you?" She shook her head again, almost pained at the mere thought of her husband finding out about the truth.

"Speak." And so she did, she babbled first about Narcissa's pregnancy, followed by her miscarriage, and skipped over the finer details of her conversation with Lucius before landing with the Dark Lord.

The entire time, even Orion had found it odd—Strange even, that the Dark Lord would grow a fixation on her all of a sudden.

"W-what did he mean by he thought of Alfie as an ally?"
"I don't pretend to know what my brother was doing, given that I had my hands full with tradition and my marriage to Walburga. But I do recall him telling me he had made a mistake."

"A mistake—A mistake?! The Dark Lord asked me to marry him, Orion—And in the near same breath he claimed he doesn't stop until he gets what he wants. Why does he want me?!" She screamed, and the man before her could not answer that.

No one could answer that.

"The Dark Lord is...A very precarious person, I don't think he merely thought of this on a whim."
"Great, so it was premeditated then?"
"Not exactly, but it would be best if we bring this to Alphard. And soon." The moment Orion had attempted to pull away, she yanked him back. "You will not tell him a damned thing, the company is enough of a stressor—If he even thinks I am in danger, that our child is in danger, this will not end well. His body can only take so much at once." Alright, so that was an obvious downfall that Orion did not want to enact.

"Then what, what will be—"
"Make the unbreakable vow with me."
"Rhea—"
"Alfie is going to give you the power of accepting a future husband, if you disagree then all is well." No, all would not be well. Not when matters were slowly becoming worse by the second.

"I suppose...I suppose it has reason to mention that Bellatrix is a fair witch to want as a Dark Lady, and you've proven to be just that."
"He's watched the duel from Diagon Alley from the minds of the attackers before...Something must have happened between then." Orion nodded, but as he reached over to brush away her tears with a spare napkin, Rhea bent forward in pure exhaustion.

"Now, this is not good for the babe. So what I suggest is that you get yourself into a bath and try to forget about today's events. I know it's difficult, but nothing will happen today and nothing will happen tomorrow." In an attempt to follow his lead, she started to get her bearings together. Though even then, Rhea had planted her head into his chest.
