Rhea truly couldn't tell which parts of her body didn't hurt as opposed to what did. If she focused hard enough, she could feel the dramatic pulse in her hand—That went all the way to the better half of her arm.
Truly, it felt like she took a bludger to the chest. Not that it's happened before, but she's seen it many times in the infirmary and she truly couldn't fathom this sort of pain on anyone.
Sound was another aspect Rhea truly couldn't fathom depicting through. There were a few soft voices, but anything she tried to focus on seemed to be too complicated to properly form a thought—Even so, she tended to find a reason to move her sore limbs.
Even if they felt heavy to the touch."Rhea?" A voice, so close and guarded had called out. But she couldn't exactly call it a familiar one, no, this was gravley and rough to the edges. It didn't latch on as someone to trust, and so she ignored it, or tried to—Until the call had returned in a more desperate plea.
"Rhea, love...Can you hear me? The Healers said you could, though I'm not sure how much of that is true. You'll have to explain it to me when you're better. Gods, if I hadn't left—"
"She knows your work is important, Alphard. She would've felt guilty if you stayed." Now Rhea was certain she could hear Orion, but the other voice?
That couldn't be Alphard, could it?"Hmm?" She managed to filter out, but what had attempted to be a shout of greeting had only formed the faintest of a groan. Something that Alphard did not hesitate to encourage him to speak further.
"See, she agrees with me. The Healers will have her all set to take home soon. Things will be alright, Alphard, truly." Whatever her husband had grumbled was too much for her mind to bare, though in a moment of curiosity, Rhea had pried her eyes open—Only to be instantly blinded by the lights casting into the room.
After failing to pull her hand in front to block, Alphard had moved himself to act as her shield. Perhaps it was the tonics still coursing through her, or the aftermath of the attack, but Rhea had smiled upon seeing her husband in such a light.
A smile escaped her as she leaned further into the pillow behind her and continued to gaze at Alphard. "Rhea?"
"Hm?"
"A-are you awake?" She tried to nod, but she realized it took a bit of extra movement to do so—And ultimately ended in a grunt of pain as she stretched her arm too far for her liking.Alphard had said something once more, but his lips hadn't matched what her ears were picking up—Even as she tried to test the durability of her hands to tap her thumb to each, it hadn't proven at all easy.
"I told you, Healers make the worst patients—Rhea, listen to me, you are going to feel quite groggy for the next hours and possibly days depending on how well your body adapts."
"What happened?" She whispered, her eyes finding it rather difficult to come and meet with Mavericks, but there the male was—Standing in his Healer robes. And in the midst of seeing them, her body had gotten quite frightened as she propelled forward and tried to get up. "I—I have to get to work." She reasoned, but the many hands that leveled her back into the bed had soothed her worries, but mainly Maverick, who claimed she was written off until she was given notice that she could return.
"Alfie?" She whispered out, her mind having trouble figuring out if he was truly there or not, and instantly a hand had interlocked with one of hers—Though she found it rather odd that it was covered in such a fabric that she frowned down at their connection.
