Not-so sad summertime (Maya X Omar)

This'll take place after Capture the flag. (Also, I don't really ship Omaya this was just a request).

Omar stepped out his familys car and let his sandals touch the ground, his dad then exited the vehicle and got the picnic mat out the truck. He eyed his wrist watch, it read 7:50pm still. It had been sometime since Capture the flag meaning that the fourth of July was here, his family had dragged him along to see the fireworks with relatives. He tried not to look annoyed and looked around, his feet guided him further in the area as he was walking his vision wasn't focused on what was in front of him.

He seemed to have bumped into someone, his body had landed on the ground. He dusted his clothes off and met eyes with the person he bumped into, to his surprise he knew this person.

Maya, his old friend that chose Xavier and to be cool over their friendship. Omar still remembered the excitement and joy from the day capture the flag was done, he thought he could truly be able to fix the crack he felt when she left him only for that crack to extend and get deeper and deeper and more and more painful. "M-Maya-?"Omar tried to say but Maya panicked and pushed him somewhere else with her. Omar felt confused at first and looked up at Maya, "Omar?! What are you doing here?"Maya whispered, "My parents dragged me here to see the fireworks, but also Maya I haven't seen you in forever! Why did you leave after Capture the flag?"Omar said he was still flooding with questions.

Maya sighed and looked around to make sure no one else was around. "Look Omar, I can't show my face at that creek no matter what. I can't just be there and act like nothing happened! I already scarred everyone!"Maya said, "Maya, I miss when we were friends I've missed you the day you left! Please, I just want to be friends again"Omar sighed. Maya thought for a moment and sighed then put her hand over Omar's hand. "I've missed you too...I don't know what I was thinking when Xavier put us against each other when we were younger...Okay fine, I'll start over with you and be friends again..."Maya smiled, Omar grinned with his whiten teeth with his cheeks red letting Maya keep her hand over his. "Maya! Where are you?"What seemed to be Mayas older brother shout looking around, "I have to go, it was nice seeing you again"Maya smiled then got up to leave. "B-Bye..."Omar smiled watching Maya leave the bush she pushed her and Omar at to be alone with him.

Time Skip

Fireworks exploded in the air as Omar looked around repeatedly 'adjusting' his collar but in reality he was just nervous and was fiddling with it. After awhile, the fireworks went off and Omar was able to see them with his family but after a bit they stopped and some people were setting off their own fireworks. But before the fireworks went off, Omar had texted Maya to meet with him in private.

He thought this was the perfect time to tell her how he felt, he wanted her to kiss him more than anything, how was that gonna happen if he kept his feelings all bottled up?

Until, Maya finally showed up. Her face went all red when she saw him, "H-Hey, Omar..."Maya blushed giving a nervous smile walking towards Omar, he swallowed and held onto Maya's hand. "M-Maya, we've known each other for awhile...So, I wanted to bring you here to ask you this summer...Will you be my girlfriend?"Omar asked with his heart feeling like it was going to jump out his chest.

Maya's face couldn't help but go all red at Omar's question. After everything, her love for Omar is being returned? But why? Was life giving her a second chance? Did Omar have a screw loose or was this seriousness?

"I...Uh..."Maya stuttered not knowing what to say, what if she chokes? What if Maya does something wrong and the relationship gets thrown away? Until, Maya silenced her thoughts and spoke knowing nothing she was going say would be a regret.

"Omar, of course"Maya smiled and moved her palms to Omar's wine red cheeks to make his eyes look into her red eyes. "I can finally kiss him..."Maya thought to herself landing her lips on Omar's just when some fireworks went off in the background.
