You stepped deep into the creek, your long picnic cloth rolled up under your arm, your (F/C) sun dress blew in the wind and your lunch sat in your picnic basket. You found a nice spot in the shade to set up your picnic, it was nice. The birds chirping, the green grass and the surroundings of nature. You set down your picnic cloth and sat down, you slipped off your shoes and started to unpack your lunch. You set up your avocado on toast and was about to take a bite just when you heard barking coming towards you.

"Cheesesticks, no! That's not your food!". You looked to your left and saw a giant dog with a Latina girl on his back wearing a teddy bear on her head, he was running towards you so fast you didn't get time to react and he crashed into you and your picnic. You let out a shocked scream as your other food spilled on your dress and the giant dog started to eat the avocado on toast you were gonna eat. Your strawberries spilled out their carton and fell on your dress and on the ground, your avocado toast was eaten by the girls giant dog and now he was chewing your shoes. "Hey! Let go of my shoes!"You got up and was quick to try to get your shoes from out the dogs mouth but it was harder than you thought.

"Enough! Cheesesticks, you don't take other people's food!"The girl said sternly, after staring at the girl for sometime Cheesesticks finally dropped your chewed up shoes. The latina sighed and started petting her dog, stroking his fluffy coat. "Hey! Your dog wrecked my picnic and my shoes!"You yelled in anger, the strawberries making it look like you killed someone given how angry you looked "Look, I'm sorry, Cheesesticks must have gotten a little hungry and liked your food"The girl sighed as you crossed your arms.

You glared at the dog then looked at the girl in front of you, if anything she should have feed her dog. You picked up your dog spit covered shoes and groaned "I can't wear these! How am I gonna walk home barefoot?!" "I do it all the time, it actually isn't so bad when you get used to it but then again I'm usually riding Cheesesticks". You looked confused for a second and looked down, you saw she wasn't wearing any shoes and the grass tickled her feet. "Oh...But it's hot out! I'm gonna burn my feet on the cement!"You said "Look, I kinda owe you since my dog did ruin your picnic but how about we head to the trading tree and get you some new shoes, It'll be on me"The girl sighed.

You breathed in and breathed out uncrossing your arms, "Thank you...But I also want my picnic to be revived"You added. You hated to add something else but then you remembered she really owed you, "*Sighs* Of course...I have some money with me so I can buy you some picnic food but first, shoes"The girl sighed. "Hey, why don't you wear any shoes?"You asked looking back down at her feet "Shoes are overrated, besides the grass feels nice on my feet. You can try walking barefoot now, actually"She pointed to your feet "Oh, yeah but when I walk home I'll need shoes"You sighed "Of course, but how bout you try walking around the creek like me, it isn't as bad as people make it".

You thought for a moment, "Fine, by the way, what's your name?" "I am Wildernessa, protector of nature"Wildernessa introduced "Guess you couldn't protect your dog from ruining my picnic..." "Are you gonna stop bringing that up?" "Right, sorry..."You mumbled at your poor attempt at a joke. Cheesesticks got up from behind Wildernessa, he then made his way towards you and began licking your face which took you by surprise "Aw, he likes you, think he's sorry about ruining your picnic"Wildernessa petted under his chin. "Here, try petting him"Wildernessa grabbed your hand and put it on Cheesesticks.

"Just move back and forth...Gently, you got it"Wildernessa smiled "He's so soft...*Sighs* I forgive you Cheesesticks"You said continuing to pet him. You and Wildernessa talked for a bit getting to know one another almost forgetting to get your shoes. "Oh yeah, your shoes, c'mon before the dinner horn goes off, get on Cheesesticks, you can ride on him"Wildernessa got on Cheesesticks and helped you on him. Cheesesticks began riding you and Wildernessa to the trading tree, the start of the ride was silent and you thought you'd practice conversation starting "Hey, why do you wear that teddy bear on your head?"You asked. Wildernessa let out a light chuckle "We're riding him now actually..."She chuckled. She began to tell the story of how when she was little her abuelita got her the teddy bear but it was around the time her parents brought Cheesesticks home and Cheesesticks ripped that teddy bear to bits, that moment taught her something she was gonna carry with her like a necklace, real animals are wild. "O-Oh..."That was all you could say then you were at the trading tree.

Wildernessa got something from her pocket and she placed it on Kit's cooler, "Heya (Y/N)- Oh, what happened here...Did ya murder someone?"Kit took notice of your strawberry stained dress "Long story..."Wildernessa sighed gesturing to Cheesesticks "You got shoes in a size (Sh/S) that are unused?"You asked. Kit thought to herself and started looking around, she came back with a pair of flip flops. "Hope they're not too big, these are the only shoes I got, they're (Sh/S) and a half"Kit placed the shoes towards you.

You let your dirtied foot in the slightly big flip flop, they fitted nice but you were a little big. You just hoped you'd grow into them soon. "They fit okay, a little bit big though"You sighed getting the other flip flop on "Thank you, Wildernessa...". Then, the dinner horn went off, perfect timing. "Oh, is it fine if I give you your replacement picnic food tomorrow? I have to head to dinner" "Of course, you want me to text you the list? I don't have paper" "I don't bring my phone to the creek, I'll give tell you my number".

Wildernessa took your phone and typed her number, she gave it back to you and you began typing the list. You waved bye to each other, you had a fun day today but now you had to walk home in your new shoes. Even though they were a little big, you liked how they felt. The feeling of walking in the shoes gave you a sense of...Walking on a sugar cloud, and the fact Wildernessa got them for you made them felt better.

10 months later

After that day you ended up coming to Wildernessa more and more, you didn't hold a grudge against Cheesesticks for ruining your picnic so long ago. Without him you would have never became friends with Wildernessa and you wouldn't have been hoping to be something more. And Wildernessa was right, walking barefoot wasn't as bad as people made it seem to be, but you still kept those flip flops in your bag around the creek just in case. Your parents kept joking after getting your old shoes ruined you didn't wanna wear any other pair of shoes besides the ones Wildernessa got you and they were right. You liked the feeling they gave you of feeling...Loved even though they were too big, the way you carried them everywhere at the creek.

You walked to the creek as usual, the grass and dirt went against your feet. You expected Wildernessa and Cheesesticks to be at the spot but you didn't expect them to set up the spot like a picnic, it was just like how it was. Even the same food that was previously ruined. "I thought you paid me back for Cheesesticks ruining my picnic..."You nervously chuckled and sat down on the picnic cloth "I did, I thought I'd set it up just like how we met"Wildernessa smiled "Minus your shoes and picnic getting ruined...".

You blushed lightly as you sat criss cross in your (F/C) sundress "I could eat...", you took a strawberry and put it in your mouth. "Ha, I know when we first met it wasn't the best first impression on me or Cheesesticks, but I'm happy I got to make it up to you by getting you those flip flops you love so much if I hadn't done that I wouldn't have wanted to be friends with you, or something more..."She sighed. You almost choked on your second strawberry. "Are you s-saying...?" "Yeah...(Y/N), will you be my girlfriend?!".

Excitement took over you and you fling yourself into her arms, "Yes!". You nearly toppled her backwards but you held each other laughing, as you laughed Cheesesticks charged at the both of you head first and bumped you two on his back barking in joy. Wildernessa smiled then got out a mark, paper and tape and wrote down on the paper 'Just dating' and taped it on Cheesesticks back holding your hand.
