The phone rang early in the morning and Cheyenne's mother answered it, "Hello, who is this? Yes I am the mother...Yes ma'am, I assure you everything is fine with my son he's been feeling a little under the weather lately. Thank you goodbye..."Xavier's mother said on the phone. The school had called about Xavier's absence from school, she felt foolish for not telling the school about Xavier being absent from school ahead of time but her husband insisted on not speaking of the matter.

Cheyenne's father had not returned that night so the dinner table contained only three of the family members, two if you counted the alive ones. "So how was your day today? Learn anything fun?"Cheyenne's mother asked hearing how quiet dinner was "Kind of...". The house was starting to smell it was musty, like meat starting to spoil. "Cheyenne, that show you like is on how about you stay and watch it after dinner?"Cheyenne's mother offered. "No thanks, I'm heading to bed..."Cheyenne said finishing the last bits of her dinner. "Already, me and your brother will watch it together, Ms.grumpypants".

Day 3

Cheyenne's and her father were still off, so Cheyenne's mother had to accommodate to her son. She saw different disgusting shades of colors forming in Xavier's skin, but that didn't tell her anything. "Were you playing in markers again?"Xavier's mother asked then got a rag to wipe the spots off but it wasn't coming off. She went to her makeup supplies and started to cover the spots.

"Cheyenne, could you pass the salt to your brother? He looks like he needs some"Cheyenne's mother said at the dinner table gesturing towards Xavier. "But he's-"Cheyenne tried to protest but her mother gave her a dirty look that made her obey. "I appreciate you being so well behaved, it makes my job a little more easier"Cheyenne's mother commented watching her daughter pass the salt to Xavier. When dinner was done the door flung open and Cheyenne's father walked in, the smell of liquor came from him. "*Hic* Heading to bed, no dinner needed..."The man slurred his words and started walking up the stairs, but his wife could not follow his signs of drunkness. "Took you long enough, I'm not happy. Our son needs you right now". "I don't want to hear your nagging, woman..."Cheyenne's father said before heading to the bedroom.

Cheyenne went to her bedroom shortly after, she could already hear the screaming in her parents bedroom, knowing her mother this could take hours. But she took this time to sneak over to Xavier's room, there she saw him in bed. She pitied the corpse, he may have been a total dick to everyone but he still deserved to be put to rest. She wanted to say something but she left his room before the smell of his rotting corpse could get worse.

Day 5

The family kept to themselves in the living room, Cheyenne doing extra credit work and Xavier sitting silently in his wheelchair. "Ugh! There are flies everywhere, I'm so sick of their buzzing. I'm worried all the noise is bothering our son!"Xavier's mother complained spraying bug spray around the house. "Dear, do you think something went bad in the pantry?"Xavier's mother asked to which her husband stayed silent at. "Dear, are you listening?"Xavier's mother asked seeing how quiet her husband was being. To his irritation he got up the couch, "I'm tired of playing pretend. You're taking this too far!". Xavier's mother became confused. "What do you mean?".

"As in disposing of his body properly! I am digging his grave and you will not stop me"Xavier's father stated then left the room to get a shovel then he aggressively grabbed onto Xavier's wheelchair, in panic Xavier's mother grabbed onto the wheelchair and it was seeming like a game of tug of war. "Leave him alone!" "You can't keep doing this!" "Yes I can, he's our son! Stop scaring him!" "For heavens sake, he's green and smells like sewage! Does that sound normal to you?!" Out of rage the wife turned and threw the fine China glass at her husband, just a few inches and the glass would have blinded him. "Don't you dare take him away from me!"Cheyenne's mother screamed then turned to the drawer and pulled out the sharpest knife in the drawer. She put the knife to her husbands throat and he dropped the shovel, he backed away slowly until his back hit the wall. "That's right, you were the one that ran him over in the first place! So don't you dear lay another hand on him, murderer!".

"I've been following your every order, look where's that gotten us! For the sake of our children I think you should start listening to me! We're going to continue taking care of our son because he had a nasty accident and needs our help do you understand?!"The wife said. The husband wasted not a second nodding in agreement. "Good, now we're going to have a nice little dinner, any objections?"The wife asked. The room was silent. Cheyenne's mother smiled and her mood shifted to a more sweet look, "I'm glad, Cheyenne help your brother get to his bedroom things have been to loud for him, you two have been so inconsiderate...".
