Pumpkin eater Part 1

Cheyenne's alarm on her phone went off beside her bed for school, she turned over and shut it off and got out of bed.

When she got to the table for breakfast she was disturbed to see her brother at the table, "Good morning, Cheyenne"Her mother said still making some breakfast and setting the plates. She saw her father already left for work, she didn't blame him based off the fact her mother was acting like her youngest son was still alive. "Your brother needs to stay at home for awhile so he can recover from his injuries. Listen, whatever you do don't tell anyone what happened yesterday, it'll be our family's little secret. Do you understand?".

Cheyenne was quick to nod and eat her breakfast, her mom smiled in satisfaction. "I'm glad you're so well behaved, this'll be over shortly". Cheyenne knew that was a lie when she went to put her dish in the dishwasher and let her mother drive her to school.

After dropping Cheyenne off at school, she returned to Xavier who was still in his wheelchair. "Don't get full of yourself you'll still have to study at home"Xavier's mother stated. No response from Xavier. "Oooh, don't give me that look either! You know puppy dog eyes are my weakness".

She had taken a break from work to accommodate her son, she was sure her husband would take care of the money making for now. She didn't know when Kenneth would be back but she hoped he wouldn't be too disturbed when seeing Xavier with a pumpkin for a head. She decided to take Xavier outside to the veranda behind the house so no nosy neighbors could see him, it would just be five minutes. After sometime she heard rain outside, she smiled at it knowing that would clean up the mess from yesterday in case her husband missed a spot. But then she remembered she let Xavier outside, she rushed outside and brought Xavier back inside.

She patted down Xavier's wet skin in panic, "Oh dear, oh dear! Your clothes are soaking wet I can't have you catching a cold"She sighed and put the towels away, the rest of the day was just her basically talking to herself.

Time skip

Dinner again, Xavier sat in his wheelchair with his family. "It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile!"Cheyenne's mother stated seeing how gloomy Cheyenne seemed while eating, she ignored her and kept her face as it was. "Your son and I had a great time together, he was very quiet but he completed his required reading and I consider that great progress!"Cheyenne's mother said to her husband. He didn't respond and got up, "I'm going to the bar"He said then turned "But we haven't finished yet!" "I'll be back soon..."He said even though the look in his face made it clear it was a lie. "Goodness what has gotten into everyone?"Cheyenne's mother said in confusion. "You mean what has gotten into you?"Cheyenne thought to herself knowing it would be a death wish to insult her mother.

Dinner ending was starting to become Cheyenne favorite part of the day cause that meant she could avoid her mother and brother, a dead corpse was in her house and she couldn't say anything.
