When Liz finished taking a shower and walked into the room, Lily was already laying in bed. She's laying on her side facing away from the entrance. Her soft breathing and slow rise and fall of her body told Liz she is already asleep.

Liz climbs into bed and realizes Lily is hugging the pillow instead of resting her head on top of it.

"Hey," Liz whispers softly, touching Lily's shoulder. "You should sleep properly."

Lily doesn't answer, already fallen into slumber.

Liz sighs, wondering if she intentionally did that due to her sleeping habit. "I told you we could cuddle."

As quietly as she could, Liz shuffles into her spot and turns the bedside lamp off. The slight movement of the bed stirs Lily's sleeping form. Liz freezes as Lily mumbles something turning over on her other side facing Liz. In that turn, the pillow that was once in Lily's arms falls off the bedside.

Knowing Lily couldn't sleep without it, Liz reaches over. She's careful to hover over Lily to avoid touching her so that she doesn't wake her. She stretches her body and arm, willing it to extend but her fingers just barely brush up against the pillow on the floor. She's too short to grab it this way.

With a sigh, she accepts defeat and will need to climb out of bed to retrieve it. But in that moment of pulling back, Lily's arms wrap around her stomach and pull her in. It took Liz by surprise, a squeak of a yelp escaping as she's pulled down and under.

Before she could comprehend it, she finds herself trapped in Lily's embrace. Liz could feel Lily's soft breathing on the top of her head and in the darkness can just make out the outlines of the neckline of Lily's shirt. She can feel her face become red finding herself in this situation. Her face burns when she realizes her arms somehow got pinned up to her chest, nearly groping the other girl.

Lily mumbles again but doesn't stir.

Liz racks her brain on what she should do. She didn't want to wake Lily; she would surely freak out from embarrassment and wouldn't be able to sleep again. She also didn't want to take advantage of the situation if this was against Lily's desires.

But she wanted it. Liz knew deep down she's been craving this intimate touch. Just this morning she was disappointed at not being awake to comprehend it. Her love language is touch so the skinship is not only something she's been wanting but ignites a fire in her heart.

She's already decided to pursue it; the desire within her. It will help her figure out her emotions and if she would regret it later, then so be it.

Liz's arms easily snake under Lily's arm, wrapping around Lily's chest to touch the small of her back. It creates a small gap between them where her arms once were but Lily, even asleep, instinctually pulls Liz closer, tightening her grip though it's a comfortable, protective pressure.

Liz couldn't help but enjoy it. She's so close that she can smell the body wash on Lily's skin and with her arms around Lily, it felt like she was hugging a big teddy bear. She could understand why Lily sleeps with a body pillow – it's so comforting.

She tried to stay awake as long as possible but her eyes became heavy and the sound of Lily's breathing and heartbeat was so rhythmic she quickly fell asleep in the comfortable embrace.

. . .

Lily's smartwatch buzzes on her wrist, pulling her out of her deep sleep slowly. She had learned from the previous days that Liz is a much lighter sleeper than her and would wake up to her alarm before she could. So she switched it to her smartwatch instead of it going off on her phone.
