Lily wanted Lover's-giving to be intimate and special. She racked her brain for a few things thinking about ways to make the day special for Lizzie in a way that she deserved. She deserves the world but Lily couldn't give her that so she has to be a little bit more creative.
Lizzie has been busy testing out some recipes for the holiday and has spent days in the kitchen. They've been eating Thanksgiving food several days in a row but neither of them complained. They bought the groceries and since they would spend Thanksgiving with Lily's parents, they had to use the food so it didn't go to waste.
Spending every second of the day with Lizzie has been blissful for Lily but it did make it difficult for her to plan anything out. Tomorrow is the day they would celebrate – the weekend before the actual holiday.
They knew they would be eating a lot of Thanksgiving food leading up to their own day so they gave themselves a few days break from the food before having another feast.
Lizzie, as she has been for the past few days, is in the kitchen. She bobbed her head to the music and did little dances around the kitchen. It's a sight Lily loved to capture in her head and on her phone.
Once she gets a few minutes captured, she joins Lizzie and makes herself known. She sings the lyrics and joins Lizzie in her goofy dance.
A smile immediately reveals itself on Lizzie's lips, a smile that brightens up Lily's day immediately, and she takes Lily's hand, twirling with her assistance. Lily pulls her in, capturing Lizzie's lips with her own.
"Let me guess," Lily says, squeezing her eyes shut and smacks her lips together as if she was tasting something, a taste lingering from Lizzie's lips. "Hm...I taste cinnamon... I need another taste," she says and leans down, pursing her lips. Giggling, Lizzie plays along and kisses her again. "Yep yep, I can taste it. It's apple pie!"
"Ding! Ding! Ding!" Lizzie laughs. "You're right! But you couldn't have guessed it from my lips."
"Why not?" Lily asks with a mischievous grin. She opens her eyes and wiggles her eyebrows at Lizzie. "Your lips taste just like it. You've had to taste test your cooking, right?"
"Or maybe the fragrance that the pie is emitting in the air?" Lizzie scoffs. "Or you saw the pie baking in the oven?"
"I can't smell or see," Lily jokes, squeezing her eyes shut again and waving her arms around.
"What a cheeseball," Lizzie giggles and grabs her two arms waving around and hangs them over her shoulder while she steps forward so that their fronts are pressed together. "Good morning."
"Good morning," Lily smiles and leans down to peck Lizzie's lips. "Tastes just like apple pie."
Lizzie rolls her eyes but she enjoys it nonetheless. "I'm reminding you that you're in charge of setting up our date for lover's-giving. I'll be in charge of the food."
"Yes, babe," Lily nods. "You've reminded me 6 times in the past 2 days."
"I'm just making sure you know," Lizzie says. In all honesty, she was nervous for the night. It would be the first holiday they celebrated together and even if Lily made everything easy to be around her, she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Who knows – it might be a precursor for what will happen for Thanksgiving with Lily's parents.
"I got it. I just need to light some candles, play some soft music, and pop open some wine."
"Not that I doubt your ability but that doesn't sound like a plan," Lizzie scolds her.
"Don't worry," Lily says and then changes the subject. "So, how about some pie?"
