Lizzie loved teasing Lily, she found out. The next morning, the last day of their vacation, Lizzie decided they wouldn't see each other at all to prepare for their date.

Despite Lily's objection, because she was feeling clingy and needy (probably lingering thoughts from last night's conversation though she wouldn't admit it), Lizzie gathered her things and left early in the morning leaving Lily alone in her apartment.

Was it her intention to leave Lily alone so that she would think about her all day? To want to see her? To what to touch her and kiss her? Lily decided that it was and she hated that Lizzie had such a hold over her and yet she lived for it at the same time.

She sat on the couch with her arms crossed over her chest pouting her day away. She decided to call Lizzie on the off chance that she would answer.

To her surprise, she did. Perhaps she isn't as torturous as she thought.

"Hello cutie."

"Don't 'hello cutie' me," Lily huffs.

"What's wrong?" Lizzie asks, her heavenly laughter coming through Lily's speakers.

"Babe, I'm bored," Lily complains. She won't admit the real reason she wanted to call was just to hear her voice. It's the next best thing other than actually being with her.

"Only a few more hours," Lizzie assures her. "Our reservation is at 5 so it'll just be a little while longer."

"Reservation?" Lily asks. "So it's somewhere fancy?"

Lily could hear the soft curses underneathe Lizzie's breath and she couldn't help but smile at the imagine in her head: Lizzie's cute scowl and muttering f-bombs contrast each other but it's cute nonetheless.

"Yes, it's somewhere a little fancier," Lizzie reveals after deciding it wouldn't harm to give her tiny hints. "So dress up. I don't want to be outdressing you and you can't make me look bad."

"Babe, there's literally nothing in the world that can make you look bad," Lily says. "But duly noted. I will dress up in hopes to meet your expectations."

"I won't complain about your flattery, but please don't ask anymore," Lizzie says. "I don't want to give away the surprise."

"I didn't ask," Lily points out.

"Touche."

"But I will ask, when should I pick you up?"

"4-ish," Lizzie answers. "I want to see you before we go."

Lily smiles hearing it from her. Her heart warms knowing Lizzie wants to see her just as much as she wanted to see Lizzie.

"We'll see each other all night," Lily says, feigning confidence. "I can come around 4:30?"

"It takes much longer to drive there than half an hour," Lizzie tells her.

"Oh? So it must be in the heart of the city, then?" Lily sing songs.

"Hey! You think you're so clever, don't you?" Lizzie asks, though her tone is filled with humor. "Very cute, cutie."

"I actually do think I'm pretty clever," Lily retorts back.

"Let's see what you think about this," Lizzie says, her voice filled with mischief. Before Lily could decipher the meaning behind her tone, the phone call ends, leaving Lily speechless and open mouthed.

"Seriously?!" Lily exclaims to her empty living room. But she isn't mad. In fact, the smile plastered on her face said otherwise; a smile that hasn't left since the moment Lizzie answered the phone with "Hello cutie."
