"YOU'RE PREGNANT?!" Lily exclaims the moment they enter her bridal room.
"I am. I found out right before the procession. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you sooner."
"Sorry?! You're thinking about apologizing? Babe, you stole my thunder," Lily exclaims. "Here I thought going by Lily Olsen would be the big surprise of the night, but you – you're pregnant? How? Whose is it? It's definitely not mine."
Lizzie laughs and pulls Lily down, kissing her deeply. "It's your's. I'm positive about that."
"Lizzie, I don't have a penis," Lily whispers in a tone as if it was a big secret.
"Well if you're suggesting that I cheated on you and got knocked up, I think we need to rewind time by an hour and call off the wedding."
"No, that's not what I meant. I'm just – It's just a big day," Lily says with a sheepish smile. She runs her hands down Lizzie's sides until they stop at her belly. "A baby? Our baby?"
Lizzie nods, tears starting to well up in her eyes. This time, she doesn't hold them back.
"I didn't think it was likely. The doctors said the trial period wouldn't be promising, but it worked. If I had to guess, I'm a month and a half pregnant," Lizzie says. "Scarlett suggested I take a test. I was convinced it wasn't true but I missed a cycle and I've been feeling queasy. My waist has been feeling bigger and I can barely fit in my dress. I –"
"Babe, what kind of nonsense are you saying?" Lily says, cutting her off. "It's all in your head. With everything going on, it's easy to miss the signs. To be truthful, I'm glad you did. I would have totally freaked out and maybe called off the wedding just so we can focus on the baby. And if you mention the way your body is one more time, I'll have to take matters into my own hands to show you how beautiful you are."
Lizzie blushes, knowing that when she got self conscious about her body, Lily showed her just how much she loved every inch of it. That entailed exploring every part of her body in very slow and thorough examination. Every part of her body. She wipes her tears to hide her blush.
"Who else knows?"
"Just Scarlett and my dad," Lizzie says.
"I'm hurt that I'm the third person to know."
"Technically the makeup artist found out too so you're the fourth," Lizzie jokes. "Her and my dad just happened to be there when Scarlett blurted it out."
"Oh, so I owe Scarlett a knuckle sandwich," Lily states.
"Before you do that," Lizzie says, holding Lily in place with her hands on either side of Lily, "let me just stare at you."
In the surprising news, Lily had completely forgotten about the purpose of this time. While their friends and family were enjoying cocktail hour, they should be catching up with the other and living their first hour of married life.
"Okay," Lily agrees and they just stand there.
They stand and stare. The only thing that moves are their eyes as they scan each and every detail of the woman before them.
Lily basks in the sunshine that is Elizabeth Olsen. Her angelic aura is only amplified by her beautiful green eyes, her cute nose, and her plump lips. Lily always admired Lizzie's body, but Lizzie in a wedding dress stirred up the butterflies in her stomach like no other. She twirls Lizzie once, to memorize her grace as the dress flows around her. She could bot believe that the beauty before her is her wife.
After longing moments, they easily started telling each other about the hectic events that led up to that day since they last saw each other, merely 24 hours ago. They talked about the upcoming baby and how they wanted to approach it – they decided they will keep it a secret until they actually went to a checkup. They talked about finally moving into their home and what they would eat tomorrow. They talked about big things, small things, and anything else that came to mind.
