It was Friday, or what Daniela fondly referred to as "Friyay." A few patients had canceled their appointments that afternoon. Therefore, you could go home earlier and order a pizza for tonight. You promised the girls you'd make further progress in the game together.

Having them as your gaming friends was such a blast; it made your gaming experience much more enriching and enjoyable. Recently, you beat Horizon Forbidden West, and it was amazing. But now you were working through Resident Evil Village because Daniela said the game was on sale, and she thought it would be a good one to try. She had watched a few clips from YouTube and mentioned how fans were obsessed with a particular video game character called Lady Dimitrescu. It sounded intriguing enough.

You lounged on the couch and asked Bela to scoot over. "Honey? You might want to pick up some of the spilled popcorn off the floor before your Mother gets back. You know how she feels about messes."

"But she won't be home for at least another hour. I'll clean it up right before she gets here, I promise!"

"You do know that kicking things under the couch doesn't count as cleaning, right? Dani, where are we? Have we reached the castle yet?"

She paused the game and handed the controller to you. "Almost, we just finished talking to that obese merchant guy. The Duke? We're headed inside the castle now."

You clapped your hands together. "Perfect timing! I've got to see what this vampire lady is all about."

"Let me tell you, she's hot as hell," Cassandra said, strolling into the room with the pizza box in her arms. "I watched some videos of her on my laptop, and all I can say is: Help me, Mommy!"

Just as your video game character entered the castle, you heard your wife come in through the front door. "Hello? I'm home!"

"Hi, Mother!" Daniela greeted.

"Oh, crap," Bela mumbled to herself as she bent over and brushed her popcorn under the couch.

You got up from your seat to welcome your wife home. Pecking her on the lips, you grabbed her purse and helped remove her coat. "You're home early! We're just having pizza tonight. It was easier than cooking something."

"That sounds fine." Alcina then leaned her head into the living room, noticing the TV turned on and her daughters in their usual comfy seats. "Are you all watching a movie?"

"Nope. We're actually going through a new game together."

"Another one?" Her tone sounding somewhat disappointed.

You knew how Alcina felt about video games. She wasn't a big fan of them, holding the mindset that video games only rotted your brain. Nevertheless, she still supported your love for gaming and understood that it was a fun activity for the girls as well. Occasionally, she'd even sit by you and read a book while you played.

"Yeah, but I promise you that this one is really interesting. Daniela said there's a certain character that–"

"—I know. You say that about every game. I'll change my clothes and join all of you soon." After Alcina dressed, she came in and sat down beside you to read her book. Your character, Ethan Winters, just entered the Hall of the Four. You and the girls watched in horror as the Dimitrescu daughters hauled him away to the bedchamber.

"Oh, look! They're taking you to see her!" Cassandra remarked. "Lady Dimitr–ouch! Shit! This is still hot!" She touched her lower lip and rolled her tongue over it to soothe the burn. With a disgruntled expression, she blew hard on her slice of pizza and grabbed Bela's drink off the table stand.

Alcina turned turned a page in her book. "Language, dear."

"And get your own drink!" Bela snatched her soda out of her sister's hand.
