3. Opening

"I even heard that the Emperors Coven has a special guest today!" I hear Edric say. By now we've checked out the whole convention, only the Emperor's Coven is missing. He keeps talking about something, however I'm not really listening to him anymore.

By now, I'm just thinking about how all of this happened. Normally, I would've taken care of someone like him, he endargered the Convention, however I felt so...strange around him. I had fun. And after he asked me to check out the other Covens I just couldn't say no. It felt like something I've never experienced.

"Hunter?" I feel a hand on my shoulder and I turn around to see Edric looking at me worried. "You alright, buddy?"

"Ehh, yes sorry." I nod and continue to walk into
the covens tent. Both of us sit down and he seems to be pretty exited. "I wonder who is going to be that special guest."

As he said that my glance moves over to the main stage and I look at it. On that stage the special guest of the Emperors Coven will open the Convention officially and put up a show for the people.

After a couple of seconds it hits me like a thunderbolt.

The Golden Guard is the special guest.

And I AM THE GOLDEN GUARD.

I immediately stand up, about to run off the tribune when once again a hand grabs mine.
"Where are you going, Hunter? The opening is about to begin."

"S-Sorry, I have to go!! M-My uncle needs me!!" I free myself off his hand and I run out of the tent.

[Edric's POV]

Confused, I watch Blondie leave the tribuine.
What did he say? His uncle needs him? But why so suddenly? It didn't look like he got a message on his scroll or something like that.

Well, maybe he just needed to use the toilet. He seemed like a rather shy person. Maybe he couldn't admit it.

Pretty cute if you ask me.

Just when I want to shake that thought out of my head, the lights start to dim and I look down to the stage. There, a light appears again on the stage and shortly afterwards appears a fog, slowly filling the stage.

"Welcome, dear witches! I hereby officially open the Coven Convention and welcome all of you to the Emperor's Coven!! The jewel and most powerful coven of them all! Inside this coven, you have the honorfull task to work under the mighty Emperor! He, the man who created the Coven System to bring peace and order to our society!!" The fog starts to clear up a little, a red beam appears in the middle of the fog along with a dark figure.

"And it's my honor to represt my own and the Emperor's personal, proud coven!
You may know me, I am..."

A leg steps out of the fog and revelas the person who has been hiding inside the fog.

"The Golden Guard! Right hand of Emperor Belos himself!"

A lot of people start to cheer while I stare at the Golden Guard with big eyes.

"Woah...the Golden Guard... I wonder who he is." I mumble quietly while the Golden Guards bows down in front of the crowd.

"Thank you, thank you." The crowd starts to get quiet again while he walks off the stage into the middle of the area. "It's the biggest honor to be part of this coven. Everybody inside this coven is able to use all kind of magic they possess. And you are granted the honor of using your abilites to help the great intentions of the Emperor and to protect the citizens of the Boiling Isles!" Once again the crowd starts to freak out. "Only the strongest and most powerful witches have the chance to enter the coven. And who knows-" he points into the crowd with his staff, pointing almost directly at me. "-maybe you are the next addition to the coven." My eyes wide in shock as I see him pointing in my direction, even though the crowd around me starts to freak out again.

"Thank you, dear witches! That's all for this opening. If you are interested in an autograph or if you have any questions you can met me outside the coven entry. I'll try my best to answer your questions." He lifts his staff and a lot of red light beams come out of it, lighting up the tent. Afterwards, he sits down on his staff and flies up a little. "I hope I will soon enough see some of you inside the Emperor's Coven. Untill then...BYEEEE!" He waves to us before flying around above the tribune and leaving the giant tent.

With giant eyes I followed him flying over the tribune and shortly afterwards leaving the tent. And before I could even realize it everybody got up and followed him outside. After a couple of seconds I also stand up and follow him outside. There I take a look around. I see the Golden Guard landing a couple of meters ahead and shortly afterwards he's surrounded by people. I take another look around, hoping to see a certain Blondie, but he's not here. After a short sigh I also walk over to the Golden Guard.
