"Your what?" Jay says sharply.
"Ava you never mentioned a brother" Connor said softly, giving jay a look for his sharp tone. A single tear feel from Ava's eye as she sniffled, quickly brushing it away.
"Sorry" she flicks the water off her hand with a shake, straight into her posture.
"Half -brother. When my biological dad left he moved to New Zealand, and started a new family with his wife, Michelle. I haven't spoken to Jacob or my dad in years, but I speak with Michelle every few months to check in. Her and my dad got a divorce about, five years back" Ava explains.
"Can I speak with him" she adds suddenly, turning to look at Jay.
"Eh, yeah" he nods and takes her into the integration room. Ava and Jay sit down silently, with Ava never taking her eyes of Jacob.

"Well, well, well. Minnie in the flesh" Jacob says, smirking at her from across the table. Ava keeps her face neutral, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of a reaction.
Leaning in to Jay as far as he could, "We called her that cause she was such a small baby, she's always hated it"
"What are you doing here, Jacob" she says flatly.
"Making some business enquires that's all" he shrugged smugly.
Ava scoffed, "As if you are leading that gang. I saw you, you were quaking in the corror like a dog in a storm"
"I am a high up member in the snakes" he argued.
"You certainly are a snake, that's for sure" Ava remarked.
"How did you get my address"
"None of your business" he muttered under his breath
Jay gave him a "you better start talking or else look" and Jacob reconsidered.
"This guy that we were working for, doing odd jobs. He wasn't happy with our work so he shot casper in the leg, and gave us your address as a mob doctor"
"What was his name"
"Don't know, never ment the guy" Jacob said and Ava rolled her eyes, "Of course you didn't"
"What kind of odd jobs?" Jay asked, writing all this down.
"We did odd jobs, mainly intimidation, threats"
"Jacob, your already going to prison, so you might as well tell us the whole truth and get a lesser sentence"
Jacob huffed before finally giving in, "He sent me, to send a message to this guy, a doc. He wanted him out of the picture so he sent me with a photo and a pistol"

Ava's blood ran cold with his words, "You did what" she whispered on the verge of tears. Her own family nearly left her as a single mother, her own flesh and blood is the reason she's on pills to help her sleep, and why she was alone for the beginning of her pregnancy.
"What, do you know him or something? An old hook up from that hospital you work at?" He goaded her.
Ava's hand was immediately on her bump, and she saw Jacobs face pale at her movement.
"He's my Fiancé. He's the farther of your nieces" she told him stiffly, unable to believe that he would do this to her.
"Minnie, I didn't know I swear" he defenderd, his smug exterior now fallen. Jay placed and hand on ava's back, knowing this must've been hard for her to hear.
"Nieces you will never meet" she told him sternly

Ava sniffled slightly, her hormones making it harder for her to control her emotions.
"You saw me didn't you" she looked him dead in the eye.
"You saw me send that text message"
Jacob nodded, finally realising the consequences of his actions.
"And you did the tourniquet, didn't you?"
"Med school drills that stuff into us"
"I left my gun on the counter as well, you were always a good shot" He added nervously.
Ava was disgusted by his weak attempt at flattery, she leaned over the table to him.
"Rot in hell" she hissed, just loud enough for him to hear.

Jacob shifted in his seat, clearly uncomfortable. Ava moved to get up and leave before Jacob stopped her.
"Your not even going to ask about ubaba"
"My ubaba died of a heart attack"
"Traitor" he barked at Ava.
"You come here, leave South Africa and have a all your American babies, with your American boyfriend and leave us all behind. After all ubaba did for you" he rambled, gesturing wildly.
"That man did nothing for me" she scoffed, crossing her arms.
"Yes he did, he always gave you the best opportunities for your carrer"
"We has the exact same opportunities thanks to Alan, and no one else. The only difference between us is I actually worked to make something of myself while you drank it all away. And  your ubaba didn't support my medical carrer, and the only resaon he supported your one is because you had a dick" she spat at him before standing up suddenly.

Storming out of the room she was immediately caught in the arms of Connor. Ava clung to him, resting her head on his chest. She was too inconsolable to voice her concerned, only doing so by placing her hand on Connors chest over his scar that she knew all to well. Connor coaxed her back into his arms, resting his head on top of hers.
Behind them Jay brought Jacob out in hand cuffs, sporting a new bloodied lip. Ava looked up to see Connors gaze, knowing he was behind her.
Ava turned suddenly to see him, "You bastard" she shouted breathlessly down the hall. Connor grabbed her arm, pulling her swiftly back into his arms.
"It's okey Ave. Not here" she soothed her as Ava cried more. Connor shook with rage at seeing the man who shot him and what state he had brought Ava to. Coming up from behind them Voight placed a hand on Ava's shoulder, knowing how hard it is to loose a loved one. Even though Jacob was still alive, he would never be family again.
After Ava settled down Hank finally spoke, "I know this isn't really the time, but congratulations on the baby Ava"
Ava face softened at Hanks kind words, "Thank you Hank" she brought a hand to her bump.
"It's a girl" she smiled to him, Hank took her back into his arms, giving her one final goodbye hug.

Connor drove Ava and himself home, she assured him serval times that she was fine and didn't need to go to med. After saying goodbye to Cartlia and thanking her for watching Sophias the pair found themselves around the breakfast bar, just like they had that morning. Ava was silently stoking her belly, Connor could see a storm brewing behind her hazel eyes, he couldn't make out what she was thinking. She suddenly turned her head to look at Connor, reaching out her free hand to take his.
"Her life isn't going to be like this" she told him confidently.
"I know sophia's is now, but it won't always be like this. And this bump is never going to have to deal with crazy step-brothers, or absent farthers or stalkers."
"I know baby, I know" he said, running his thump over her knuckles.
