Naruto's Wedding

It was finally the day of Naruto and Hinata's wedding , Tenten smiled softly from the door frame watching me tie my hair back . I glanced at her curiously " what ?"  She shook her head and walked up to me dusting off my shoulder " ever think about our big day ?"

"Our wedding day ?" I asked to confirm her hint . She nodded " I know we aren't engaged or anything but we have been together for so long , I can't help but expect it in the future " I understood what she meant , we have been the longest dating couple from the genin all those years ago , yet we haven't planned for our future together.  Like Tenten said , it's expected. 

I gently brush her cheek with my finger "you want to marry me that bad huh ?"

She chuckled " of course dummy , we are practically married already....without the ceremony and name change "

" then let's make it official , Tenten . Do you want to marry me ?"

Tenten's eye's widened " are ....are you proposing? Right now ?"

I blushed " yeah I guess I am . I know it's anticlimactic but-"

"OF COURSE !"

" So ...yes ?"

Tenten chuckled "yes" she pulled me in for a kiss , making sure to nibble on my bottom lip before letting go "oh look at the time, we are going to be late "

Tenten turned around and walked out the bedroom with a bounce in her step .

I finished getting ready and joined her in the living room where I was met with Tenten's parents. She was in the middle of a conversation when she turned to me with a big smile , Tenten's parents walked over to me and gave me a huge group hug " Welcome to the family , Indra "

I looked at Tenten in surprise "you already told them ?"

Tenten blushed "it's big news "

" I thought it was expected , now you are acting like it was a surprise "

" no it's just ...now it'll be official "

Tenten's mother smiled softly "we can discuss the formalities later , it's time to go to Naruto's wedding "

Tenten's father hung his arm over my shoulder " after the wedding we can all go out to drink and celebrate!"

He then looked at me with a big smile as Tenten walked out with her mother , his arm tightened around my shoulders "I'm glad and relieved that it's you ...When we first met you I had a feeling about you , a good feeling but ......I  know Uchiha carry heavy baggage and I hope you don't dump it on Tenten "

I frowned " That's not something I would do "

He released me and walked to the door "I didn't say you would Indra , but your clan attracts attention.  Both good and bad , I really hope Tenten's future will be good with the Uchiha name , but I also fear the attention it'll bring her . Indra , I am happy for you both however I need you to think this through . Can you protect Tenten once she carries your clan name ?" He then walked out to join Tenten and her mother .

I frowned again and looked at the Uchiha banner hanging above the living room couch , did my clan really leave such an impression on the village ? That we are prone to bad intentions ?

I heard Tenten call for me " Indra ! We are going to be late !" I sighed , I will have to go find him after the wedding .

I walked out and joined Tenten with her parents and we made our way to the wedding venue . It was no surprise that the wedding had so many guests , Naruto did make a big impression on alot of them .

As we waited for the ceremony to begin , we met up with a few friends . Tenten hung out with Lee and her Sensei for a bit while her parents chatted with some other guests . I stood near the buffet table swirling my glass of champagne , staring into it and watching the golden liquid swirl .

" Indra , are you okay ?"

I glanced up to see a concerned Sakura , I quickly put my glass down "yes I'm fine "  Sakura walked closer and stood beside me "could have fooled me "

I smiled to myself but then my smile faded while I watched Tenten laugh with her friends . I sighed " Sakura ...what's your view on the Uchiha clan ?"

Sakura looked at me with surprise " what ?"

I picked up my glass and swirled it once more " recently I've been made aware that my clan isn't seen in such a good light , and that those who identify themselves with the clan could get hurt or worse ....I was wondering as Sasuke's future partner , how do you see it ?"

"F-future p-partner ?!"

I looked up at her in surprise " wait , you didn't notice ? "

Her face turned all shades of red "n-no..." she then cleared her throat "is this about you and Tenten ?"

I nodded , Sakura picked up a glass of champagne from the table " the way I see it . No clan is free from discrimination and powerful clans like yours will always be feared even if the clan was doing good . When you marry into a clan , you marry the burden of that clan regardless what it is . Tenten understands this aswell and she's still dating you . It's no secret that the Uchiha clan isn't liked by alot of people but it doesn't matter  , what matters is Tenten's love for you ."

I smiled softly "thanks "

Sakura smiled " anytime " she then walked off . I glanced at Tenten once more to find her staring right back with a concerned expression , I gave her a soft smile to reassure her . Her shoulders seemed to relax as she smiled back .
