At world's end and all that is left is the shadow swallowing it whole - but in my mind, I know... that it isn't my end. It is yours.
All of us are sitting around the transport area waiting for three people. The three people are Akane, Rey, and Griff. I have an idea why two of them are late because they are taking their sweet time enjoying each other's company and Grif... I have no idea why he is taking this long.
Kat then sides next to me. "Glad we get to do something. It feels like forever since we last did a job."
I chuckle, "Yeah, I have been itching to get busy."
Valk chuckles. "Not the only one."
Kat then tilts her head, "Though this one is easy as well right?"
I nod, "Pretty much the same deal but they want us to just capture as many people as possible without killing them - apparently, a gang operation that has been getting pretty aggressive and the authorities can't arrest them."
"Doing it our way then," Valk nods, "Though a lot of us are pretty bad at knocking people out."
I look at Skye, "As long as Skye renders most of the useless with gravity magic it should be a walk in the park.Eeveryone else knows what to do."
And Kat then states, "I will be playing mostly supportive!"
"And we love you for that," I add.
"See? It is probably good if we get into an actual skirmish but sneak missions just kinda suck with me - I need someone to give me the energy to be able to do anything with my powers."
"Means you should have the upper hand most of the time?"
She nods, "Should - it is pretty strong in theory but we are mostly dealing with people - my power is lethal and any form of energy being turned into pure energy can fatally harm anyone... it was hard doing the entry exam without killing anyone," she sighs.
Griff then smiles at her, "You got this, don't worry."
"Thanks..." she pouts, "Guess I will be useful eventually."
Skye then sides next to her with a soft smile, she then fixes her face instantly. It is kind of unfortunate for her considering how her power works - it is just very effective when fighting people to the death.
We might have to need it here - or maybe we should help find a non-lethal way of using it.
A short wait later Valk shows up saying that he had to deal with some friends asking him for some help - then not a moment later the couple in our little group walks towards us with Rey holding her usual expression and Akane with his same wide grin.
"Took your time."
"Sorry-"
Rey stops him, "Weren't you the one taking your sweet time last time?"
"You were also late last time," I state as I push myself to my feet, "Do I need to debrief or are we all good?"
"We're good," Kat gives me a thumbs up with Skye adding a nod shortly afterwards.
Griff states, "Ready when you are."
"Same here," Akane chirps.
"Then let's get going," Rey walks towards the transport.
