"They are here for you," he sides next to me, resting his arms on the backrest of the seat. "But you are sitting here staring out at the people celebrating your survival. Is it because it fuels your ego? It makes you believe you survived for something. Or maybe a part of you still isn't here yet, it is somewhere else entirely."
I glance at Juno who then flashes me a smirk. I don't know how to answer him, because right now I am overjoyed but another part of me is yet to... feel anything. My heart yearns for the satisfaction of revenge.
Revenge that I have not been allowed to have.
Blood that's not mine to spill, not yet.
I shake my head at him as I answer. "I am here, just taking it all in. Maybe I need some strong convincing that I can rest my shoulders for a bit, that... my life isn't under constant threat."
He scoffs. "Enjoy your life, up until the very last moment. Because it will never stop being dangerous, they will never stop looking at you with the eyes of dogs waiting for the wolf to hide his fangs while they still bear theirs."
"You like speaking in idioms?"
He shakes his head. "There are only so many ways words can portray what you really mean. For me? I intend to flex that ability. But seriously though," he gestures at the people around us, "choose who you surround yourself with because then you get to choose who is wielding the knife"
I finish his sentence for him, "And that alone determines which end of the knife I am on."
"Sometimes you need to harm others to achieve a greater good, but what is a lesser evil towards a greater good?" He scoffs as he chuckles to himself. "Same goes for the other way round, easier to hide evil with small acts of kindness building up to the Apex."
He points at Evelynn. "You have chosen them perfectly I have to say, Evelynn's perfect for your abilities. Akali would be so much stronger if she had even a smidge of what you can put out, Ahri as a soul stealer fox kind of compliments your abilities but... on the one hand acts against it. What if it had some corrupting properties?" He then glances at Kai'Sa. "She's an interesting one, an ability to evolve stronger and stronger but it needs a buffer, wonder if you can change that suit into something else entirely?"
I ask him. "You've thought about it that deeply?"
He nods. "You haven't? You need to determine at what point your power reaches a point where it starts affecting the people around you. But be careful that it doesn't corrupt them in the process, what good would they be if you broke them down till there was nothing but a husk."
I shake my head. "I'd never let anything happen to them."
"Keep your people close to you, (Y/N). They won't ever understand the life you choose, they won't want to know what your motivations are because in the end they will be praying on your death, and they hope that every fall will be harder than the next."
"Where do you stand, Juno?" I ask him.
"Someone that understands." He breathes out. "I've lost more than I could afford, I killed more than I was willing to spill. But never was I a liar, never tricked someone... I was born to be real and that is the version of me all will know, what version of you will they see?" He asks with a sombre tone. "Think it through, they burned you down but what's left is a shadow of what you once were. They are all asking why the Shadow just moved," he pats my shoulder as he walks away from me. "We are all steps away from becoming gods, but out of everyone here? I'd throw you at them."
Memory appears in his place, sitting down where he sat as he expresses with a whisper. "He sees something in you that others wouldn't see at first glance, maybe he knows more than he lets on, maybe he's lived longer than he is willing to admit."
