Walking through the large area given to the students,  I don't know where Evelynn is leading me but I can see that there about dozens of students running around the area. You can see big groups and small groups roaming around the area and hovering near specific places.

There must be so many people here, it looks even more alive than a city's centre.

"Just over here."

"Hey, Evelynn."

"What's up?"

"Right, but isn't this a bad idea though? I am just a freshie."

"I was being deadly serious," she coos. "I went to you specifically to be my little chew toy and I was also being serious that for the first couple of months, someone was going to take you and break you in."

"Why?"

"Egos," she answers. "Lot of people here target the Arena Champions to break them down, to teach you that there is someone stronger than you out there, though the method to the madness can be pretty fucked up. One year ago one of the Champions snapped and murdered her bullies. She got a prison sentence for five accounts of unsanctioned manslaughter. She was rumoured to be the strongest student to come here in a long time."

I furrow my brow. "Then why let that happen?"

"Power struggle," she lifts her shoulders into a shrug. "You are going to learn very quickly that a lot of people aren't going to like you. A lot of people want to break you down to show you that right now; you aren't worth shit."

"If it is that intense why even bother to be better than the others if they came for you?"

"That's why I stepped in while I still could." She continued to lead me to the meetup. "Then there are the other Champions that got lucky and got treated real nicely. It isn't all just bad there is a lot of good in the place. It is greyer than anything, just keep your head tucked and don't fuck with the wrong people."

"Were you a Champion?"

She shakes her head. "Placed third in my Arena, I lost to Erica, and Erica lost to Ahri."

I thought that the child of the FireSpreaders would be a champion but I guess even Erica had met her match in that case... it is only making me curious.

"The girl you tried to save, Akali, was the champion of one of the other Arena and she is standing as the strongest physical fighter among the second years and will probably be the strongest due to her lack of magic."

I nod. "The Magic Order laws, right?"

She nods. "People incapable of using magic have stronger wills, stronger bodies, and are immune to most curses."

"She didn't need my help at all if that is the case, even though I never intended on getting in the middle."

"She didn't," she nods. "Besides that guy, his name is Henry, is a good friend of hers."

"But not dating?" I arch my brow.

"He wishes," she chuckles. "Why? Are you interested in Akali?"

"She is attractive, but I might have messed up my chance at first impressions," I cock my head.  "But I am not that interested in her."

"You are a terrible liar."

I shake my head, "I am not really here to date anyone-"

"A pity if that is how you are going to go through your time here," she looks away from me. "There are a lot of memories to be had here with people and even start a partnership with someone that can support you no better than anyone else. Might even get a nice girl to fall for you."
